CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College football team held its seventh practice of preseason camp Friday in full pads inside the Fish Field House and outside on the Chamberlin Practice Field. It was the final practice prior to the first scrimmage of preseason camp tomorrow.

The Eagles practiced for just over 90 minutes under sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s on a beautiful August morning in Chestnut Hill.

Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer attended practice along with ACC Network’s Kelsey Riggs and Eric Mac Lain.

Saturday’s scrimmage will feature roughly 70-80 snaps for the first-team units as the Eagles continue preparations for the season opener against Virginia Tech on August 31.

Below are notes from practice on Thursday and today’s workout:

Thursday Notes: Off. vs. Def. Notes: In the first series, LB Max Richardson recorded a sack against play-action and CB Brandon Sebastian jumped a route on the right sideline for an interception … RB Peter Stehr set up the second-team offense for a score with a 40-yard run off left tackle … RB AJ Dillon scored the first team’s first TD of the morning from a yard out after the longest gain of the drive coming on a catch-and-run to Dillon in the flat … in goal-line scenarios, RBs David Bailey and Quin Stott each plunged into the end zone during the second O vs. D period… DB Aaron Gethers gathered in an INT on a dropped pass with the second team units on the field … WR Jehlani Galloway broke free on a slant and QB Matt Valecce hit him for a 60-yard score … running the first team, QB Dennis Grosel connected twice with Chris Garrison to get the offense across midfield … on fourth-and-two from the defense’s 30, QB Anthony Brown evaded pressure and tucked to run before finding Kobay White for the first down reception.

Friday Notes: In the first play from scrimmage, the offense ran play-action and QB Anthony Brown adjusted his arm angle in the face of pressure to loft a ball to TE Chris Garrison for a sliding catch … QB Dennis Grosel ran in the first touchdown of the day from 11 yards out … RB AJ Dillon led off the next series with a 20-yard run, which set up a score of his own … in the second outdoor series for the first team, Brown completed three consecutive first-down passes to RB David Bailey, TE Chris Garrison and WR Elijah Robinson to reach the defense’s 25 … the offense flipped the field to go the other direction two plays later after Brown again connected with Robinson, who rose up above the corner for a catch at the four … Brown’s precision was on display on a touchdown drive, capped by a toss to WR CJ Lewis between double coverage in the end zone … TE Hunter Long was a favorite target of Brown’s throughout the morning; hauling in three catches in the final period. Long showed tremendous hands and the ability to get open.
