Boston College Preseason Practice Report No. 10

Quick practice Tuesday was high-intensity and up-tempo

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The 10th practice of BC training camp got underway early Tuesday morning at Fish Field House and was an intense, up-tempo session in full pads. The Eagles competed fiercely on both sides of the ball in live periods as Anthony Brown was once again on the field guiding the first team offense. For the day, the best battles were in the trenches between the offensive and defensive lines.

Offense vs. Defense: Beginning at the 35, Brown marched the offense down the field on the first series; ending in a touchdown pass to Korab Idrizi… the second team offense stalled shy of its own 40 and punting live for the first time in camp Grant Carlson pinned the ball inside the 20-yard line… the defense stood firm the rest of the first live session by forcing five consecutive punts.

In the second live session of the morning, the defense opened by forcing a three-and-out; capped by a Will Harris pass break-up… the offense began to move the chains with back-to-back first down runs by Ben Glines and Travis Levy to enter the red zone… the offense settled for a 22-yard Colton Lichtenberg field goal after Davon Jones knocked away a pass at the goal line intended for John Fadule… two drives later and facing a third-and-15, the offense got back in the end zone on a Christian McStravick 29-yard catch-and-run.

Notes: Three former Eagles attended practice on Tuesday as Mark Kamphaus, Mike Panos and Adam Newman were in the building … the Boston College Football Radio Show with Steve Addazio will return again this year to Jake N Joes in Waltham. More details will be coming but the show will begin Monday, August 27 at 7 p.m. on WEEI 850-AM … The “Decide To Fly” TV show returns again for a second season on NESN this fall. The four-episode show will take viewers behind-the-scenes with interviews with players and Addazio … the second scrimmage of training camp is set for Saturday morning. BC will practice again on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday leading up to Saturday’s scrimmage.
