Tigers even series as Spinners fall 5-2

NORWICH, CT – The Spinners (9-11) kicked off their brief road trip with an extra-innings victory on the Fourth but were unable to carry that momentum into Thursday night against the Tigers (8-12).

Biondic, an undrafted knuckleballer out of the University of Maryland, had his best stuff going with five strikeouts in 3.1 innings of relief. He held the Tigers to one hit and two walks, giving up an earned run.

Devlin Granberg led off the fifth by reaching on a fielding error while the Spinners trailed 4-1 but showed off his speed when Xavier LeGrant managed to drive him in from first on a single to right.

Durbin Feltman and Andrew Politi finished the game with a shutout inning each but it would not be enough to catch up to Connecticut who evened the series with a 5-2 victory.

Alexander Montero takes the mound on Friday to close out the road trip. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
