Baldelli Picks Up ACC All-Academic Honor

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Boston College sophomore center fielder Dante Baldelli was selected to the ACC Baseball All-Academic Team as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning. Baldelli, a biology major in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, is the 12th Eagle to earn All-ACC Academic Team recognition since BC joined the league in 2006.

In his second season at Boston College, Baldelli hit .235 with 29 runs scored and 21 driven in. He stole 19 bases, which ranks tied for fourth all-time in a single season in BC history. Baldelli homered once this season; a walk-off grand slam to beat Virginia Tech at the recently opened Harrington Athletics Village on March 24.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all-conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
