Boston College Preseason Practice Report No. 13

Team begins third week of preseason camp

CHESTNUT HILLMass. – The Boston College football team finished its 13th practice Monday morning inside Alumni Stadium. Now in the third week of preseason camp, the Eagles returned to the field after a day off Sunday and for the first time since Saturday’s second scrimmage.

Monday’s practice was another opportunity where both the offense and defense enjoyed a strong, competitive workout.

One bright spot was the return of junior wide receiver Michael Walker. The Florida native has been limited in camp due to injury but was back full-go on Monday. Walker, who led the Eagles in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2016, had a nice reception during 11-on-11 action.

Week three of preseason camp continues with practice on Tuesday.

Practice Notes: NFL scouts from the Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers were in attendance at Monday’s practice … former BC standout wide receiver Brian Brennan attended Monday’s practice and spoke to the team. The Michigan native earned the Thomas F. Scanlan Memorial Trophy and was named Eagle of the Year during his career and was a fourth round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 1984. Brennan played in the NFL from 1984-92 with the Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and San Diego Chargers … senior linebackers Ty Schwab and Connor Strachan teamed up for a sack during team period Monday … junior running back Jon Hilliman has shown an excellent burst all of preseason camp and did again on Monday with a couple runs to the edge … senior cornerback Isaac Yiadom had an interception during the team period … senior Noa Merritt contributed a big TFL as he stuffed a run play during team action as well … Quarterback Darius Wade connected with redshirt freshman Kobay White for a key first down during the 11-vs-11 play … Anthony Brown directed the offense on an impressive drive and capped it off with a touchdown pass to Davon Jones.
