Landry Named to Preseason All-ACC Team
Senior led all defensive linemen with 111 votes to preseason squad

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. –  Boston College senior defensive end Harold
Landry was named to the 2017 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Preseason
Football Team announced on Wednesday.

The team was selected by a vote of 167 media members that were
credentialed for last week’s ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte.

Eleven of the league’s 14 football programs placed at least one player
on the 2017 All-ACC Preseason Team.

Landry finished 2016 as the nation’s leader in sacks (16.5) and forced
fumbles (7) on his way to earning All-America accolades from the
Associated Press and Walter Camp Football Foundation. The North
Carolina native was also fifth in the nation and second in the ACC
with 22.0 tackles-for-loss. Landry set the Boston College
single-season record with 16.5 sacks a year ago.

He was also a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award in 2016, given
annually to college football’s top defensive end.

Boston College returns 46 letter-winners and 17 starters in 2017 after
the Eagles won three consecutive games to close out the 2016 season,
including a 36-30 win over Big Ten foe Maryland in the Quick Lane
Bowl. It was the first bowl win for the Eagles since 2007 as BC went
to the postseason for the third time in the previous four seasons.

BC opens the 2017 season Friday, Sept. 1 at Northern Illinois (9:30
p.m.) on CBS Sports Network. The Eagles open the 2017 home schedule on
Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. vs. Wake Forest (ACC Network Extra).

Season tickets are now available by visiting BCEagles.com or calling
617-552-4622 (GOBC).
