GREEN BAY, Wis. — Jordan Love realizes the Green Bay Packers need to finish better, but their early execution provided just enough cushion on Thursday Night Football.
Love threw three touchdown passes, running back Josh Jacobs found the end zone twice, and the Packers overcame three costly turnovers to hold off a late Carolina Panthers comeback attempt for a 27-19 victory at Lambeau Field.
With the victory, Green Bay improved to 5-3 on the season, while Carolina fell to 3-4.

Love Airs It Out While Watson Delivers a Heroic Return
The Packers leaned heavily on Love’s arm to spark an offense struggling to generate efficiency on the ground. Love completed 30 of 41 passes for 288 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, finishing with a 106.6 passer rating.
Green Bay took command in the first half behind Love’s distribution. He opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown strike to tight end Tucker Kraft on third-and-18. In the second quarter, Love connected with rookie wideout Matthew Golden for a touchdown and later found Josh Jacobs on a quick swing pass for another score, helping Green Bay construct a 20-10 halftime lead.

The night’s most dramatic storyline belonged to wide receiver Christian Watson. Watson sustained a chest injury in the first half and was transported to a local hospital for precautionary testing. After tests came back clear, Watson returned to the Lambeau Field sideline in the third quarter and finished as the game’s leading receiver with eight catches for 113 yards.
Jacobs added a short touchdown run in the third quarter to cap a dual-scoring night, giving Green Bay a commanding 27-10 cushion. Jacobs racked up 53 total yards from scrimmage (39 rushing yards on 21 carries, 13 receiving yards).
Game-Breaking Moment: Defense Stifles Carolina’s Late Surge
Despite trailing by 17 points, Carolina quarterback Bryce Young and running back Chuba Hubbard rallied the Panthers back into contention. Hubbard ran for 81 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries while adding seven receptions for 38 yards.
The critical game-breaking moment arrived midway through the fourth quarter. Facing fourth-and-3 from the Green Bay 26-yard line, Young dropped back and delivered a strike to receiver Jalen Coker, who broke a tackle for a 26-yard touchdown to trim the margin to 27-19.

With Carolina attempting to pull within a single field goal, the Packers defense delivered the pivotal stop on the subsequent two-point conversion attempt, denying Young’s pass to keep the lead at eight points.
When Carolina got the ball back at its own 45-yard line with a chance to tie late in the fourth quarter, Green Bay’s pass rush slammed the door shut. Linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt anchored a unit that registered six total sacks on Young. The defense forced a turnover on downs on four plays, effectively icing the contest before a final lateral play expired as time ran out.
Finishing Strong Remains Green Bay’s Main Priority
While the victory keeps Green Bay firmly in the NFC postseason race, fourth-quarter execution remains an urgent focus for head coach Matt LaFleur’s squad. Green Bay went scoreless in the final period and conceded three turnovers on the night, allowing Carolina to stay within striking distance.
Love noted after the game that while building a three-score lead demonstrated the team’s potential, maintaining rhythm through all four quarters will be essential as the schedule toughens into November. Green Bay now enters its mini-bye week atop the wild card picture, backed by a defense capable of closing out tight games when it matters most.
