            A 5 on 5 all-out war ensued on the ice. Down 5-1 in the third, Oilers forward Trent Frederic smacked Florida’s Sam Bennett. Tensions boiled over from the last game’s controversy. The Edmonton Oilers are seeking revenge. All available skaters dropped their gloves as the Stanley Cup became a brawl.
In Game 2, Bennett had a dirty hit on netminder Stuart Skinner, which nearly injured the goalie. Once on the bench, Bennett celebrated the hit with Matthew Tkachuk. The Panthers made an impressive 60 hits in the game. In comparison, the Oilers only managed half of that. At the same time, Skinner’s performance has been impacted. As for the game itself, game two ended in double overtime. A breakaway goal for Brad Marchand led to the Panthers tying the series 1 all.
On the other hand, game one ended in a single overtime. Florida held a 3-1 lead. However, the Oilers came back and drove the game into OT. In overtime, Corey Perry made a pass to Connor McDavid. McDavid passed to Leon Draisaitl. Draisaitl shot. And Draisaitl scored the final goal for the Oilers to pick up a 4-3 win.
Fists were thrown early on in game three. After the Panthers took a quick 2-0 lead. Oiler’s Corey Perry picked a fight with Panther’s Niko Mikkola, resulting in another 5 on 5 throwdown in the first. In total, 140 penalty minutes were served. With the Oilers contributing 85 minutes. While the Panthers only contributed 55 minutes.
Nonetheless, the Oilers continued their retaliation. Swinging sticks, taking hits, and even spraying their opponents with water bottles. Game three was chaotic. The Oilers physically beat down the Panthers. However, the Panthers beat down the Oilers in the game. The Panthers outscored the Oilers 6-1. Three of the goals came from power plays.
In game three, the Oilers pulled Skinner in favor of Calvin Pickard. Overall, Skinner went 18/23. Although Pickard went 7/8 in his time in the third. In this series Skinner has a 0.866 save percentage. As for Florida, Sergei Bobrovsky has a 0.916 save percentage. It is to be seen if Pickard will get the start for game four. Nonetheless, game four will be on Thursday, June 12th, in Florida. The Florida Panthers lead the series over the Edmonton Oilers 2-1.
