Clearwater stayed perfect, but several other Pinellas County teams endured a much tougher Week 8. Berkeley Prep edged Clearwater Central Catholic in overtime, while Tarpon Springs won a defensive struggle. Meanwhile, St. Petersburg, Gibbs, and St. Petersburg Catholic delivered some of the week’s biggest victories. The results ranged from one-point heartbreakers to shutouts, giving county fans plenty to discuss.
Clearwater defeated Pinellas Park 16–7, improving to 7–0 and extending its winning streak against the Patriots to five. Pinellas Park quarterback Laderian Jackson threw for 89 yards and one touchdown on eight attempts. Josiah Hernandez contributed 30 receiving yards, while Jhai Hitchcock rushed for 51 yards. Breyln Johnson recorded nine receiving yards and a touchdown. However, the Patriots slipped to 3–4 despite those contributions.
