The WNBA played just two games last night, and they both saw the road teams get easy wins. With those wins, the top of the standings is getting tighter as teams jockey for playoff positioning.

Indiana Fever 84, Las Vegas Aces 68
Mitchell and Boston Conquer Sin City Against Sidelined Aces
The highly anticipated matchup at T-Mobile Arena lost some of its marquee luster before tip-off, as both Indiana’s Caitlin Clark and Las Vegas’ A’ja Wilson were ruled out due to injury. However, the game itself delivered plenty of drama. The Indiana Fever flexed their roster depth, punishing the Aces in the second half to secure their first-ever regular-season franchise win in Las Vegas, 84-68.
The Third-Quarter Blitz
The first half was a highly competitive, back-and-forth affair. Las Vegas held a narrow 24-23 lead after the first frame behind the perimeter work of Jackie Young (15 points) and Jewell Loyd (12 points). Right before the intermission, Indiana’s Lexie Hull beat the buzzer with a clutch jumper to give the Fever a slim 42-41 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Indiana completely blew the game open:
- The 9-2 Run: Aliyah Boston, Sophie Cunningham, and Kelsey Mitchell each drained consecutive three-pointers to shock the Vegas crowd and build a 56-49 cushion.
- Drawing Contact: Mitchell followed the perimeter barrage by hunting contact, drawing a critical foul beyond the arc, and immediately following it up with an and-one conversion.
Indiana outscored Las Vegas 26-14 in the third period, establishing a 68-55 lead that the Aces could simply never overcome.
Star Performances & Low Scoring Droughts
Kelsey Mitchell put on an absolute clinic, pacing all scorers with 27 points while converting 10-of-12 attempts from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, Aliyah Boston controlled the interior, logging her sixth double-double of the campaign with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
“We knew with players down, everyone had to raise their intensity by 10 percent,” Mitchell said postgame. “We trusted our ball movement and locked down defensively when it mattered most.”
On the flip side, the short-handed Aces looked entirely out of sync without Wilson anchoring the block. Las Vegas was held to a dismal 13 points in the final frame, culminating in a 68-point total—their lowest-scoring output of the entire 2026 season.
Dallas Wings 89, Toronto Tempo 76
Bueckers Leads Wire-to-Wire Masterclass in Toronto
Across the border at the Coca-Cola Coliseum, the Dallas Wings continued their impressive road warrior identity by handling the expansion Toronto Tempo 89-76. The victory pushes Dallas to a strong 13-8 record, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a top-tier playoff seed.
Wire-to-Wire Dominance
Dallas made it clear from the opening tip that they had no intention of playing down to their expansion opponents. Star rookie Azzi Fudd and veteran guard Arike Ogunbowale opened the contest with consecutive three-pointers, sparking an explosive 10-0 run out of the gate. Fudd would finish the first quarter with another deep ball, guiding Dallas to a commanding 30-19 lead after one.
While former Wings player Marina Mabrey (19 points) engineered a late second-quarter push to bring Toronto within five at halftime, Dallas responded ruthlessly in the third quarter. Jessica Shepard sparked an 8-0 run, pounding the paint to help build a 71-59 cushion entering the fourth quarter. Toronto never threatened again.
Balanced Firepower
- Paige Bueckers: Though her historic streak of four consecutive 25+ point games came to an end, Bueckers was incredibly efficient, logging 22 points and 7 assists on 9-of-16 shooting.
- The Supporting Cast: Azzi Fudd finished with 17 points (5-of-11 from deep), while Jessica Shepard put up a monstrous 14 points and 15 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the year.
The Tempo showed flashes of brilliance behind Mabrey, Nyara Sabally (14 points), and Isabelle Harrison (13 points), but their defensive rotations ultimately dissolved under the weight of Dallas’ multi-layered offense.
What’s Next?
The WNBA action doesn’t slow down. The surging Dallas Wings travel straight to the Big Apple on Tuesday for a heavyweight showdown against Breanna Stewart and the New York Liberty. Meanwhile, the expansion Toronto Tempo will look to bounce back on Wednesday night as they play host to the Golden State Valkyries.
