This past Tuesday night, the Atlantic Coast Conference officially ushered in another season of league basketball. The conference concluded its non-conference slate with a dominant 176–55 (.762) record. With only three non-league games remaining on the schedule, the ACC is currently on pace for its best non-conference winning percentage since the 2018–19 season (165–47). This marks a significant step up from the 2024–25 season, where the league went 130–69 (.653). Notably, 38 of those victories came against Power-4 opponents—the second-most in the country and a nearly 100% increase from the 20 wins recorded against top-tier schools a year ago.

All five starters for the Cardinals reached double figures, led by a standout 26-point performance from Ryan Cornwell. Despite the loss, Cal saw four players reach double digits, headlined by Chris Bell with 20 points.
