As we close in on the midpoint of the 2025-26 season, women’s college basketball is defined by a fierce battle for supremacy among a handful of undefeated giants and the emergence of a high-scoring freshman class that is already reshaping the record books. And of course, UConn is back at it again.

Their 12-0 start includes three wins over top-15 opponents, signaling that the dynasty is very much back in full force.

2. The SEC Power Struggle

The SEC is a gauntlet this year, featuring three of the top five teams. Texas (14-0) has made a seamless transition to the conference, currently sitting at #2 with a terrifying +39 scoring margin. Meanwhile, South Carolina (12-1) has recovered from an early-season stumble to win five straight, and LSU (13-0) is demoralizing opponents with a relentless offensive pace that leads the country in scoring.

3. Big 12 Resurgence: The Rise of Texas Tech and TCU
