PARADISE- Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs take on Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in this year’s final showdown, Super Bowl LVIII. Will experience carry the Mahomes lead Chiefs or will the youthful flashiness carry the 49ers?

Both teams have top-tier defenses too so it’s hard to tell whether this will be a defensive game or feature plenty of points which would make old-school coaches have grey hair quickly. The Kansas City Chiefs boast the second-best overall defense in the NFL while the San Francisco 49ers boast the third-best defense in the NFL.

There are playmakers on both offenses as Mahomes can rely on tight end Travis Kelce as viewers saw against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship. The fact that Kansas City did enough despite facing the NFL’s number one defense is a good sign of things to come for the Chiefs. However, Mahomes needs to get the other playmakers involved or this game could get out of hand quickly in the 49ers favor.

Purdy has plenty of offensive playmakers in Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Running Back Christian McCaffrey.

Which team will prevail? Will this be the old-school, defensive finish that traditional fans will enjoy or will this be another more modern game and many passing yards and points?

The showdown in the desert will be one of the most entertaining Super Bowl finishes in the modern era one way or another. It’s hard to expect a finish that is anything other than “down to the wire”. Whether it’s the old school, low-scoring defensive game that compares to the finish between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams in 2019 which the Patriots won 14-3, or something like last year’s Super Bowl which Kansas City won against Philadelphia 38-35, we’re in store for a Super Bowl finish that we will remember for many decades after this game.

As long as we don’t see a finish that’s comparable to the Dallas Cowboys over the Buffalo Bills 52-17 in the 1993 Super Bowl. Perhaps almost as ugly was the finish between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders which resulted in a 48-21 final score.

We shouldn’t see such a lopsided finish to this Super Bowl but you never know. Will the Chiefs win it all again or is it time for Purdy to solidify his legacy?

Prediction:

Kansas City 35 San Francisco 28
