CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Major League Baseball announced yesterday that Boston College will be one of eight Division-I teams to compete in the 2024 Desert Invitational.
From MLB, the Desert Invitational is “MLB’s annual Arizona-based tournament designed to celebrate the traditional start to the college baseball season. The tournament will be held the weekend of February 16th-19th in a round-robin format across three locations throughout the Greater Phoenix area – (1) Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, (2) Sloan Park, and (3) Grand Canyon University. MLB Network will exclusively air three LIVE games with Gregg Caserta, Dan Plesac and Jim Callis on the call, while eight of the 12 contests will stream on MLB.com. The Desert Invitational will feature some of the most outstanding baseball programs in the nation – nearly all of which are participating in the invitational for the first time.”
The Eagles, making their first appearance in the event, will face Ohio State, Kansas State, and California over the three days.
Boston College’s tournament schedule is as follows, with all times MT, and all dates, times, and match-ups subject to change:
- Boston College vs. Ohio State, February 16th, 1:00
- Boston College vs Kansas State, February 17th, 12:00
- Boston College vs. California, February 18th, 3:00
Games one and three will take place at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, while game two will be at Sloan Park.
