The USF Bulls are coming off a big win over the Temple Owls. Head coach Alex Golesh labeled it a sloppy win. Bryum Brown and Sean Atkins both set records in the last game. The Bulls need one more win in the final two games to become bowl-eligible. This week they will travel to San Antonio, Texas. Their opponent is the UTSA Roadrunners. The Roadrunners are one of the newer teams in the AAC. UTSA currently sits third in the conference behind the SMU Mustangs and Tulane Green Wave. All three of them are undefeated in the conference. The Bulls do not play the Green Wave and Mustangs this season. UTSA has only lost one game at home and the Bulls have lost three. The Bulls will be tested by the Roadrunners. The game will be kicking off at 9 P.M. and will be on ESPN 2.

The UTSA Roadrunners are coming into this game on a six-game winning streak. Their last loss came against the Tennessee Volunteers at the end of September. In the first four games, they only had one win. They are welcoming the upstart USF Bulls. The Roadrunners are already bowl-eligible. Last year they lost to the Troy Trojans in the Cure Bowl. UTSA seems to be balanced on offense using both the run and pass. They put up 34 points against the Rice Owls. That is a common win for both the Roadrunners and the Bulls. Even if their wins they give up chucks of yards the North Texas Mean Green put up nearly 500 yards. This might be a trap game because UTSA plays Tulane next week. That could be the preview of the AAC Championship game.

The USF Bulls are coming into one of the rare primetime games they will be involved in. This will put eyes on USF. The team is feeling good about themselves after their win over Temple. Coach Golesh says that the mission is not over they want to continue to keep progressing and winning. The Bulls have five wins which is more than any season since 2018. In 2018 was the last time the team made it to a bowl game. The players that took place during the post-game press conference said they are ready for the challenge against UTSA. If the Bulls can not make mistakes with penalties and turnovers, they can win against the Roadrunners. The defense would be tested because UTSA has a complex offense. The offense will have to continue to stay balanced because the Roadrunners give up yards on defense.

This game is important for both teams. If the USF Bulls win, they will become bowl-eligible with one game left in their season. If the UTSA Roadrunners win, they will get closer to a spot in the AAC Championship game. This game could be closer than many experts think. It will be exciting for the Bulls to be seen on ESPN 2 and during a prime-time game. Will UTSA overlook USF because Tulane is their next game? We will have to wait and see. Some will have to be up till early Saturday morning to see who wins the game.

  1. USF is still finding their way from within. Their Defense is a sive and any team they play has their way with them. A quality team like UTSA should dwarf what UAN and Memphis were able to do. While USF is finding an offensive scheme unfortunately this game is not winnable. Charlotte will be USFs only true chance to get to a bottom bowl.
