USF Bulls: Looking Ahead To The Alabama Crimson Tide

One of the best things among the many that Michael Kelly did was go out and schedule the big teams. The USF Bulls will welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday. The Bulls have also scheduled teams like the Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, and Miami Hurricanes just to name a few. This is exciting to see these teams coming to Raymond James Stadium. The teams that agreed to play the Bulls will play one game on the home and two on the road. The Gators have already played their one game in Tampa and the second game was played last year in Gainesville. The next game in the series will conclude in 2025. This will give USF fans to see head coach Nick Saban. These are some of those coaches who until they leave always have good teams. Let’s see how USF will do against the Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide come in with a record of 1-1. Last week they lost at home to the Texas Longhorns. That means they will be coming to Tampa in not the greatest of moods. There were several reasons why the Crimson Tide lost last week. The quarterback play has been a question since Bryce Young was drafted number one overall to the Carolina Panthers. Many say that Jalen Milroe should be benched for Tyler Buchner. We will have to see which way Saban will go against the USF Bulls. The other issue is the pass rush for Alabama. They had no sacks against the Longhorns. If they can rush Byrum Brown, they could control the game. If the offense gets back on track, it could be a blowout win over the Bulls.

The Bulls have an uphill battle ahead of them. In week one they played a solid game in a loss versus the WKU Hilltoppers. Last week they hosted the FAMU Rattlers, and it was a close game. The game should not have been that close. The Bulls won the game by 14 points. USF got five turnovers but only managed to score 38 points. If they play like they did last week they will be in trouble. The one thing that needs to stop is the penalties. If they commit dumb penalties that will help a Crimson Tide team extend drives and score. The Bulls need to play the game against the Hilltoppers. The offense has been great moving up and down the field. The defense has been making tackles and getting off the field on third downs.

If things go the USF Bulls’ way, they could pull off one of the biggest upsets in college football. Anybody can win on any given Saturday. The Bulls must stay disciplined and not make mistakes. If they can keep the Crimson Tide from making big plays, they have a shot to pull off a win. Alabama is upset with their loss last week, so they are coming with an attitude. USF cannot play down like they did against FAMU. The offense cannot be so vanilla and they need to mix it up and keep Alabama on its toes. If the Crimson Tide plays an aggressive style of football and the Bulls’ defense does not respond it will be bad for USF. There is a slight chance that the Bulls can win this game but those chances against the mighty Tide are going to be slim to none.
