USF Bulls: Some Shakeups and Additions to Future Football Schedules

The USF Bulls have made several future schedule changes and additions. Many say that is because the past few seasons it has not been good at all for the program. It is exciting to see the top teams come to Raymond James Stadium or USF goes on the road and plays them in their house. For example, one of the games that are upcoming in 2023 is against the Alabama Crimson Tide will be coming to Tampa. I have heard from some season ticket holders that Alabama fans have asked them to sell their tickets and it’s enough to pay for the whole season for the USF Bulls tickets. The Bulls have played the Florida Gators both at home and on the road. As far as Florida universities go the Gators will get another home game. The Miami Hurricanes have three games the first one is in 2024.

That is one of the changes that was moved up. They will host the USF Bulls in 2025 and 2028. The Bulls have also added the Bethune Cookman Wildcats to their schedule they will play them in 2024, 2026, and 2028. Also, in 2027 another Florida university the Florida A&M Rattlers will be coming to Raymond James 2027. They will head to Bryant-Denny Stadium next year to play the Crimson Tide. Another team that they added as a road game in 2024 is against the Southern Miss Eagles at M.M. Roberts Stadium. The non-conference schedule in 2024 has all been listed above. In 2025 outside of playing the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes which are both road games they host the Boise State Broncos and South Carolina State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs were the first of four wins in 2019.

At this point, there are only three non-conference games that have been announced for 2026. They will head back to Birmingham to play the Crimson Tide. The other road game will be in Utah as they once again will go on the road to play the BYU Cougars. The last time the Cougars play the USF Bulls BYU came out on top. There will probably be another non-conference game that has not been announced yet. The best part is it will be a home game for the Bulls fans to go and see. All four non-conference games for 2027 outside of mentioning the Florida A&M Rattlers the other three will be a home game against the Louisville Cardinals and two road games one on the road against the Broncos and the other against the Northern Illinois Huskies. The four games will be very interesting to see where the program is.

In 2028 three of the four out-of-conference games are at home. The first will be against a team that used to be in the AAC the UConn Huskies. Then Southern Miss will come to town. In 2029 there will be another big team coming to Raymond James Stadium the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Irish were one of the teams that fell to the USF Bulls early in the program’s history. The last time they got together the Irish dominated the Bulls and may them look mediocre. So far in the way-way future in 2030 and 2031 they have a road game against the Louisville Cardinals and in 2031 on the road in South Bend, Indiana against Notre Dame, and a home game against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. I am just curious about why these changes have been made.

Many have said that the program has taken a dive recently and is trying to get back to where they were when the program started. We will have to see what Alex Golesh does in the next two to three years. We all know that coaches should have at least three years to get their type of players for their program. All the USF Bulls fans just want to see the team be competitive and stop having near wins and make those real wins. The program needs to have some winning season and there are many variables on why the last few years that has not happened. The biggest one is recruiting. Can Golesh recruit kids here and abroad to help get the program back on track? I am looking forward to hopefully a better season than what we saw in 2022.
