Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Pepsi vs Coke. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2022-23 Against All Odds Champion?

It doesn’t get any better than starting off 4-0, and then losing six straight.

Only Al Bundy has worse luck.

Dad now takes the season lead with a 5-5 record, good for a 9-11 record, one better than yours truly.

Week 4

Against All Odds Lines as of 9/20/2022

NCAA

Saturday, September 24th

Rhode Island (2-1) at #24 Pitt (2-1)

Game Time: 12:00 PM at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: Pitt -27.5

The Pick: PSN: Pitt | MJD: Pitt

No matter who starts at QB for Pitt this week, expect the Panthers to pound Rhode Island and have this wrapped up by half.

Central Michigan (1-2) at #14 Penn State (3-0)

Game Time: 12:00 PM at Beaver Stadium, University Park, PA.

Vegas Line: Penn State -27.5

The Pick: PSN: Penn State | MJD: Penn State

I almost thought about going with the Chippewas here, as they have a pretty good offense, but Penn State should continue to roll until the cupcake schedule ends on October 15th.

#5 Clemson (3-0) at #21 Wake Forest (3-0)

Game Time: 12:00 PM at Truist Field, Winston-Salem, NC.

Vegas Line:  Clemson -7.5

The Pick: PSN: Clemson | MJD: Clemson

Good test to see if Wake Forest is for real again this year, but more than likely, the Tigers will win by 10 or more.

#20 Florida (2-1) at #11 Tennessee (3-0)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Kyle Field, College Station, TX.

Vegas Line: Tennessee -10.5

The Pick: PSN: Florida | MJD: Tennessee

Good rivalry here, and Florida has been up and down like a roller coaster, and on the road, I like the Gators to keep this within striking distance before losing again.

West Virginia (1-2) at Virginia Tech (2-1)

Game Time: 7:30 PM at Lane Stadium, Blacksburg, VA.

Vegas Line: West Virginia -1.5

The Pick: PSN: Virginia Tech | MJD: Virginia Tech

Both teams stink but I feel that VaTech will find a way to escape with a tough home win over the Hoopies.

NFL

Thursday, September 22nd

Pittsburgh (1-1) at Cleveland (1-1)

Game Time: 8:15 PM at FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, OH.

Vegas Line: Cleveland -5.5

The Pick: PSN: Pittsburgh | MJD: Pittsburgh

Woe, Canada… Will the Steelers offense be allowed to actually try this week under the worst offensive coordinator in football?

Sunday, September 24th

Kansas City (2-0) at Indianapolis (0-1-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Lucas Oil Field, Indianapolis, IN.

Vegas Line: Kansas City -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Kansas City | MJD: Kansas City

The Colts have been the biggest bust this season, and now will be pounded into dog meat by a hungry KC team that is humming on offense.

Buffalo (2-0) at Miami (2-0)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, FL.

Vegas Line: Buffalo -5.5

The Pick: PSN: Buffalo | MJD: Miami

Buffalo looks like the best team in football, and as if they are on a few levels higher than everyone right now. The Dolphins are coming off an incredible comeback vs the Ravens last week. It’s gonna be a fish fry here.

Cincinnati (0-2) at NY Jets (1-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.

Vegas Line: Cincinnati -4.5

The Pick: PSN: Cincinnati | MJD: Cincinnati

The Bengals have returned to being the Bungles, and God help them if they can’t find a way to beat the lousy Jets.

Baltimore (1-1) at New England (1-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, MA.

Vegas Line: Baltimore -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Baltimore | MJD: New England

New England was a beneficiary of Matt Canada’s obsolete offense, and the Ravens are going to be in a bad mood after blowing a 21 point lead vs the Dolphins last week.

Against All Odds Pick Results

MJD: Last Week: 5-5 | Overall: 9-11    —

PSN: Last Week: 4-6 | Overall: 8-12   –1
