Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Pepsi vs Coke. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2022-23 Against All Odds Champion?

If you thought the Pittsburgh Steelers offense was brutal, try wearing a 1-4 record on your neck for the week…

Dad, just by going 2-3 for the week, gained a game back to even us all up at 4-6 for the season.

For week three, we’ll get back to picking ten games vs the odds.

Just more games to watch in disbelief as wins turn into losses at the last moments of the games.

Week 3

Against All Odds Lines as of 9/15/2022

NCAA

Saturday, September 17th

#22 Penn State (2-0) at Auburn (2-0)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, AL.

Vegas Line: Penn State -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Penn State | MJD: Auburn

No, you don’t have to check the sky for any asteroids headed for the earth, as I am going with Penn State here, even on the road, as the Tigers are having problems at quarterback. At least PSU played Purdue, the university, not the guy who sells chickens, unlike down in War Eagle Land where they have faced two cupcakes.

The Nittany Lions escape with a win and the cover late. Dad is going with the home dog…

Toledo (2-0) at #3 Ohio State (2-0)

Game Time: 7:00 PM at Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH.

Vegas Line: Ohio State -31.5

The Pick: PSN: Ohio State | MJD: Toledo

Holy Toledo, it’s gonna be ugly for the Rockets, who head into Ohio Stadium for a nice payday and an asswhoopin… Dad is opposite of me again, believing Toledo will somehow cover. No way in hell, right…?

#23 Pitt (1-1) at Western Michigan (1-1)

Game Time: 7:30 PM at Waldo Stadium, Kalamazoo, MI.

Vegas Line: Pitt -10.5

The Pick: PSN: Pitt | MJD: Pitt

Everyone is still in the dark as to who will start at QB for Pitt… however, the Panthers are superior from top to bottom, and QB or no QB, Pitt owes Western Michigan big time for last year. The defense will keep this game in check.

#11 Michigan State (2-0) at Washington (2-0)

Game Time: 7:30 PM at Husky Stadium, Seattle, WA.

Vegas Line: Washington -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Washington | MJD: Washington

Tough for the Spartans to go West and snatch a victory away in that tough of an environment… and I don’t just mean the crowd at Husky Stadium. Don’t walk down any dark alleyways, or heck, not even the streets during the day thanks to loony civil leaders who have all but ceded the city to criminals.

#13 Miami (2-0) at #24 Texas A&M (1-1)

Game Time: 9:00 PM at Kyle Field, College Station, TX.

Vegas Line: Texas A&M -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Miami | MJD: Texas A&M

The Aggies fell like Wile E. Coyote in the polls after their loss to Appalachian State last week. I like the Hurricanes to make it two straight losses at home via the play of U quarterback Tyler Van Dyke.

NFL

Sunday, September 18th

New England (0-1) at Pittsburgh (1-0)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: New England -2.5

The Pick: PSN: Pittsburgh | MJD: Pittsburgh

I understand that T.J. Watt is out, and Steelers OC Matt Canada employs the “Quick Sand” offense, but is Vegas insane here? Did they see how piss poor the Patriots played on offense, and now they face the same defense that almost killed Joe Burrows and caused five turnovers?

Steelers by a touchdown or more.

Tampa Bay (1-0) at New Orleans (1-0)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Superdome, New Orleans, LA.

Vegas Line: Tampa Bay -2.5

The Pick: PSN: New Orleans | MJD: Tampa Bay

For some reason, the Saints always have had Tom Terrific’s number, and I believe with the troubles at home, combined with no training camp, will keep Brady from being at the top of his game for at least another week or two.

I like the Saints here at home.

Miami (1-0) at Baltimore (1-0)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD.

Vegas Line: Baltimore -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Baltimore | MJD: Baltimore

This will be a good game to decipher which team is actually going to make some noise this season. Hard to go against the Ravens here at home.

Washington (1-0) at Detroit (0-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Ford Field, Detroit, MI.

Vegas Line: Detroit -1.5

The Pick: PSN: Washington | MJD: Detroit

Carson Wentz had a stellar debut, and now gets a chance to keep the ball rolling vs a Lions team that may be down DeAndre Swift at RB.

Cincinnati (0-1) at Dallas (0-1)

Game Time: 4:25 PM at Ford Field, Detroit, MI.

Vegas Line: Cincinnati -7.5

The Pick: PSN: Cincinnati | MJD: Cincinnati

The Bengals are going to be in a foul mood after their loss vs the Steelers last week, and the Cowboys just suck.
