NFL: Taking a Look At The 2022-23 New England Patriots

The New England Patriots come off a pretty good first season with Mack Jones as their starting quarterback. They made it to the wild card round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Buffalo Bills embarrassed them after the Patriots beat them earlier in the year by mostly running the football. The biggest question for New England is who is going to call the offensive plays. Josh McDaniels left and became a head coach for the second time but decided to stay this time. He took the job with the Las Vegas Raiders whom the Patriots play later in this season. Matt Patricia has returned but he was the defensive coordinator, not the offensive guy. This is going to be an interesting year for Mack Jones and the offense. Many experts have the Buffalo Bills winning the division, but I still think the Patriots can be competitive within the division.

The season begins in a place where the New England Patriots have struggled for a long time. That is Miami, FL against the Dolphins. The Dolphins are banking on Tua Tagovailoa as their quarterback and this game is a toss-up for me. it could go either way. They will hit the road after that game as they travel to play the Pittsburgh Steelers. This, at one time, was a game to watch when it was Brady vs Roethlisberger. In this game, I think the Patriots can win as both defenses will be on display in this game. The following week they will play at home as they host the Baltimore Ravens. This will come down to if the defense can keep Lamar Jackson at bay. If so, it is a win. If not, it is a loss. After that, they hit the road to play the Green Bay Packers.

This game could be one that the Patriots could win. The next week they are home against the Detroit Lions who beat them a few years back when Tom Brady was still the quarterback. This will be a win for the Patriots. The following week they will be on the road against the Cleveland Browns. With everything that is going on, I can see another win. New England then returns home to play the Chicago Bears and here is another game the Patriots will win. The second division game will be on the road against the New York Jets. The Jets have improved but in this game, the Patriots can and will win. They will host the Indianapolis Colts the following week and this game will be tough. I can see them losing this one. The Jets come to town the following week and I can see another win.

Bill Belichick does well against young quarterbacks and Zach Wilson is in his sophomore season. Many say the Minnesota Vikings could be a tough team this year. We will see as the New England Patriots travel to Minnesota. This is a toss-up for me. The following week they will host the Buffalo Bills. I do not think the Patriots will be able to win this one. The week after the Bills they travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals. I think this is a game that the Pats can win. The next game will be in Las Vegas as they play the Raiders. This game will be tough I can see a loss here. The next game is at home against the Cincinnati Bengals this game I do not think can be won by the Patriots. The last home game will be against the Dolphins this one can be won.

The close of the season on the road is against the Bills and it will be a hard game. I think that in the division they will be 4-2 or 3-3. I am interested to see what Belichick is going to do with the offense. Some games could be wins where I said they are losses and vice versa; I. I think this team could be a playoff team. I hope they can win at least one playoff game. The teams to watch are the Bengals, Bills, Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs. I believe Mack Jones shines this year and takes a step forward as he did well in his first year.
