
Pittsfield, MA – The win streak for the Brockton Rox continues. The ball club got its eighth win of the season against the Pittsfield Suns in strong fashion, winning by a final score of 6-2. The pitching for Brockton is what shined once again. Brendan Walker (Stetson) had a solid start on the mound, throwing five full innings pitched with zero earned runs. Walker also had six hits and four K’s in the contest. Nick DiRito (UMass Lowell) got the official save for the day. DiRito threw the final four innings of the ball game, finishing with four hits, one earned run, and two strikeouts.
The Brockton offense repeated history from last night, scoring most of their runs in one inning of the game. Brockton scored five runs in the first with help from Peter Messervy (Harvard) and Chenar Brown (Jackson State). Messervy finished 1-5 with a run, while Brown finished 2-4 with a run and RBI. Dustin Allen (San Diego) also had a day at the plate, scoring the sixth run of the game on a solo blast. Allen finished with a 2-4 stat line with two runs and two RBIs. Pedro Martinez Jr. (Lynn) went 2-2 on the day, totaling two singles.
As a whole, the Rox tallied ten hits in the ball game. Pittsfield also recorded ten hits, but only had one RBI (Brockton had six).
