The year of 2020 has taken us to places we never imagined. It has brought so much pain and suffering that we will never forget. The coronavirus will forever be engraved in our memories for so many reasons. One, in particular, is how it took away the sports we love and the changes that have come about because of it. I want to discuss a few aspects I am looking forward to seeing and how they will be affected. The NFL has seen so much change and we look and see how this plays out.

Betting on sports is a norm all across the world. I grew up watching the OTB in my neighborhood packed with grown men waiting to place their bets and watching the horse races for the results. There were the betting houses you could go to and place your bets on all kinds of sports too. But all of that will change now and online betting will look to become bigger than ever.

Another aspect of change will be to see if there will be fans in the stands and how many will be allowed under state and local laws. I mean, when you look at the game of football, the fans are one of the biggest parts of it. Crowds can energize a team, bring it out of a slump and push them to victory. Plus, how funny will it look to see a stadium empty, or just partially filled with fans? But this virus has shown us that it will attack given the proper circumstances and opportunity.

Speaking of changes, we will see Tom Brady in a different uniform for the first time. He is now with Tampa Bay and his addition has lifted expectations in the city. How will the Patriots fare without him and will they even make the playoffs now? Will Cam Newton find a career resurgence in New England?

Are the Chiefs and their star QB, Patrick Mahomes, the real thing and repeat as NFL champions? Winning back-to-back titles is never an easy feat in any sports, but this team has the personnel to get it done.

The Raiders are now in Las Vegas in their new home, Allegiant Stadium. But will that be enough to motivate this team that lost 10 games in 2019? Jon Gruden sat in the press box for so long and we wondered if he would ever coach again. Can he turn things around or is he not the coach we thought he could be?

Phillip Rivers takes over in Indianapolis after spending his whole career with the Chargers. They have just gotten a look at their new home, SoFi Stadium that just opened last week. It will be home to the LA Rams as well for the 2020 season.

There will so many more stories like watching the rookie class of 202 and how they will pan out. What about the likes of Teddy Bridgewater in Carolina? Will the players protest and how will that play out in the eyes of America? Lamar Jackson electrified us in the regular season last year only to disappear in the playoffs. Can he take the next step forward and help the Ravens get back to the Super Bowl? Never count out the likes of Big Ben and the Steelers so long as he is under center. Let’s not forget that Alex Smith is back from a horrendous injury and he looks to get the Washington football team back to winning football games.

So many questions yet to be answered and so much to look forward to. One thing is for sure. We are all ready to see the snap of a football and the get on with the start of the 2020 NFL season.
