KANSAS CITY- Many fantasy football owners were affected by the devastating injury of Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He was injured early during Kansas City’s 40-26 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fantasy owners earned less than 10 points from him. There was a move that owners were able to make after the injury. Hill is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Owners had the option of picking up Chiefs rookie receiver Mecole Hardman. The receiver out of Georgia was hyped up and became a big name in the 2019 NFL Draft. Picking up Hardman off of waivers was a very good idea. He averaged 15.5 yards per reception in his final season at Georgia. Hardman was a big-play threat every time he touched the football.
Hardman may not be projected to do much right away but don’t be fooled by the projections on ESPN and NFL.com. Hardman’s play style at Georgia was similar to Tyreek Hill. He possessed deep threat speed and acceleration as well as great cut moves to get past defenders. He even turned short receptions into long gains. He showed great speed and elusiveness. He even looked like a special teams threat.
My projection for Hardman in Week 2 against Oakland: 7 receptions, 105 yards, two touchdowns.
