Boston College Preseason Practice Report No. 9

Eagles return to the field in full pads

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After a day off on Sunday, the Boston College football team resumed preseason training camp with practice number nine Monday morning inside Fish Field House. The Eagles held a 20-period practice for the first time since Saturday’s scrimmage.

Sophomore quarterback Anthony Brown was back under center taking snaps in live offense vs. defense periods for the first time in camp.

7v7 Highlights: CJ Lewis went up and made a high catch across the middle… Brown was on the money to hit Elijah Robinson in stride in the back of the end zone for a 15-yard score.

Offense vs. Defense: Matt McDonald, with plenty of time in the pocket thanks to the o-line, hit Korab Idrizi up the seam for a 20-yard completion… in red zone situations, the first team offense got into the end zone on a Brown completion to Michael Walker… Lewis continued to reel in catch after catch on the day, including two TDs in red zone series… Marcus Valdez forced a fumble, which was returned by the defense for a score… David Bailey burst through a big hole on the left side and went the distance for a 50-yard TD.

Notes: NFL scouts from the Los Angeles Rams, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals were in attendance Monday … sophomore safety Mike Palmer recorded an interception in the end zone during team work … sophomore defensive end Brandon Barlow had a would-be sack if quarterbacks were live during team period … McDonald had his third TD of practice with a 35-yard pass to Kobay White.
