There are two weeks to go before the New York Life ACC Tournament gets underway at the Barclays Center in New York.  The Virginia Cavaliers are the only team to have clinched a top-four spot and a double bye in the event. Here’s a look at what else is going on in the league.

With his 19-point performance in last week’s loss to Virginia, freshman guard Chris Lyles of the Miami Hurricanes has put a string of good games together. Over his last three games, Lyles has averaged 16 points per game and dished out 2.3 assists.

The Virginia Cavaliers continued to play the best defense in the conference as they have allowed an average 52.9 PPG per ACC contest. If that mark holds, it will be the third-lowest average in ACC history.

Wake Forest’s Bryant Crawford has scored in double figures in 50 of his last 53 games. That includes a streak of 37 straight double-figure scoring efforts against ACC foes.

Louisville’s Anas Mahmoud has blocked at least two shots in 18 of his 26 games. He leads the league and ranks eighth nationally in blocked shots per game at 3.1.

When Grayson Allen of the Duke Blue Devils scores twenty points, the Blue Devils are usually in pretty good shape. He has reached the 20-point. mark seven times this season and Duke has won all seven of those games. In his career, Allen has scored 20 points 37 times for the Blue Devils.Their record in those games is 31-6.

The No. 14 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels have won 20 games once again. This marks the 60th time in school history that the Tar Heels have won at least 20 games. It’s the 14th time in 15 years under current head coach Roy Williams.

The Florida State Seminoles have done well when playing free basketball this season. FSU has gone to overtime three times this year, all in league play and all at home. They beat Clemson on Feb. 14  to give head coach Leonard Hamilton career win number 500. They also have OT wins vs Syracuse back on Jan.13, and vs Miami on Jan.27.

Senior Ben Lammers, of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, is the only player to have started every game for the Jackets this year. Lammers has become a bit of an iron man having started the last 63 consecutive games for Georgia Tech.
