Welcome to Against All Odds: NCAA/NFL Picks Week 10! From the opening weekend of the NCAA football season through Super Bowl LII, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on his father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas spread.

Mike Drakulich covers both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for NGSCSports.com!

To appease the taste buds of Pittsburgh’s local coverage area, Pitt, Penn State, and West Virginia, when they are playing, will always be on the docket among the NCAA games chosen, as will the Pittsburgh Steelers for NFL games.

Once Bowl Season arrives, we’ll bring you ALL 42 games and then continue throughout the conclusion of the NFL Playoffs.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2017-18 Against All Odds Champion?

Like Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagle’s offense, this writer is on fire in the Prediction Department. Another great week was logged into the books as I posted an 8-2 record, including a 6-0 shutout/beating of my dad and his picks. After getting clubbed by him the past two years, I must say, I’m enjoying the taste of a little payback!

For the season, I am 52-28, which is good for a .650 winning percentage. I now have a 15 game lead over my dad, who dropped to 37-43.

Still plenty of weeks left in the season for me to continue rolling along, or watching my dad chip away at my lead.

Today’s word of advice? Enjoy what you have today, cause it can be taken away in an instant. Can’t help but feel bad for the Texan’s Deshaun Watson, who had the Houston offense humming in his rookie season. Sadly, during a non-contact drill in practice on Thursday, Watson suffered an ACL tear and is out for the season. Best wishes to a speedy recovery to one of the game’s future stars.

Lines as of 11/3/2017

NCAA Football

Saturday, November 4th

#7 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-1) at #24 Michigan State Spartans (6-2)

12:00 pm | Line: Penn St St -9.5

Pick- PSN: Penn St | MJD: Penn St

Michigan State is nowhere near as good as their record suggests. Penn State will be in a foul mood after blowing a rather large 4th quarter lead against Ohio State last week, in which, in all aspects, may have killed off any Playoff hopes for the Nittany Lions. I must admit, I enjoyed the look on Jimmy Franklin’s face as he watched the Buckeyes run out the clock on kneel downs. Perhaps it was at that moment he was wishing he prepped for Ohio State, instead of say… Akron.

#4 Clemson Tigers (7-1) at #20 N.C. State Wolfpack (6-2)

3:30 pm | Line: Clemson -7.5

Pick- PSN: Clemson | MJD: Clemson

Clemson, after their miss-step with Syracuse, is back in the driver’s seat to defend their Championship. They will face a Wolfpack team that was smacked back into reality by Notre Dame last week.

#15 Iowa State (6-2) at West Virginia Mountaineers (5-3)

3:30 pm | Line: WVU -2.5

Pick- PSN: Iowa St | MJD: Iowa St

The Cyclones cost me a game last week as they defended their turf against then #4 TCU. That win vaulted them to #15 into the rankings, but now they face West Virginia in the unfriendly confines of Mountaineer Field. WVU was humbled by Oklahoma State.

#5 Oklahoma Sooners (7-1) at #11 Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-1)

4:00 pm | Line: Oklahoma St -2.5

Pick- PSN: Oklahoma | MJD: Oklahoma

The Game of the Week in all of football, as these two rivals are fighting for more than just bragging rights.

Texas Longhorns (4-4) at #8 TCU Horned Frogs (7-1)

7:15 pm | Line: TCU -6.5

Pick- PSN: TCU | MJD: TCU

The Horned Frogs were stymied by Iowa State last week and now face a lame duck Texas team.

NFL

Sunday, November 5th

LA Rams (5-2) at NY Giants (1-6)

1:00 pm | Line: LA Rams -2.5

Pick- PSN: LA Rams | MJD: LA Rams

I’m not convinced the Rams are that great of a team, but they keep rolling along against whomever they are scheduled against. They’ll continue their winning ways when they visit the wounded NY Giants, who are in the midst of a horrible year, beset by injuries.

Denver Broncos (3-4) at Philadelphia Eagles (7-1)

1:00 pm | Line: Philadelphia -8.5

Pick- PSN: Philadelphia | MJD: Denver

One can’t help but pity the Broncos defense, which is one of the best units in the league, as their efforts were being wasted by a horrible offense led by Trevor Siemian, who couldn’t lead a horse to water, let alone his own offense down the field. Now Denver have handed the keys to car back to… Brock Osweiler. Yes, that Brock Osweiler that left the team to sign with the Houston Texans, who stuck up the joint down there, before being traded to the Cleveland Browns, who released him in Training Camp.

Washington Redskins (3-4) at Seattle Seahawks (5-2)

4:05 pm | Line: Seattle -7.5

Pick- PSN: Seattle | MJD: Seattle

Russell Wilson and the Seahawk offense are heating up. The Redskins are falling out of playoff contention faster accusations piling up against all male actors and producers in Hollywood.

Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) at Dallas Cowboys (4-3)

4:05 pm | Line: EVEN

Pick- PSN: Kansas City | MJD: Dallas

He’s in. Nope, he’s out. Wait, he’s in. Oh, sorry, he’s out. No, we’re not talking about Taylor Swift’s boyfriends, we mean Ezekiel Elliot, who finds himself on the outside looking in this week (or hour of this article). Without their best player, how will the Cowboys respond against one of the NFL’s better teams in Kansas City?

**EDITED at 11:15 am 11/3… Well, well, well, seems Zeke’s lawyers would make John Milton’s in Devil’s Advocate look like novices! Elliot will be in to face the Chiefs, but I’m sticking with Kansas City to come away with the win.

Oakland Raiders (3-5) at Miami Dolphins (4-3)

8:30 pm | Line: Oakland -2.5

Pick- PSN: Oakland | MJD: Oakland

You couldn’t find two more erratic teams in the NFL if you tried. That’s what makes picking the winner of this one so intriguing. If the Raiders lose this one, it may be sayonara for their playoff chances.

Pick Results

PSN: Last Week: 8-2 | Overall: 52-28   —    .650

MJD: Last Week: 2-8 | Overall: 37-43  -15    .462
