Week Seven brought another busy Friday night for high school football teams across Pinellas County. Several teams delivered impressive victories, while others suffered difficult losses away from home. Meanwhile, a few results remain unreported on major scoreboards. Pinellas Park produced one of the county’s strongest performances against Seminole.
Calvary Christian also dominated Northside Christian. However, Clearwater Central Catholic suffered its first loss against a talented Cardinal Mooney team. Here is a look back at the Week Seven action involving Pinellas County programs.
Pinellas Park dominates Seminole
Pinellas Park responded strongly after losing 24-13 against St. Petersburg during Week Six. The Patriots dominated Seminole and controlled the matchup behind a powerful rushing attack. MaxPreps currently lists Pinellas Park’s victory as 36-0. Jhai Hitchcock rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. He also caught a touchdown. The victory improved Pinellas Park to 3-3. It also gave the Patriots three victories during their last four games. However, another statewide scoreboard lists Pinellas Park winning 32-7. Therefore, published sources currently disagree on the final score. Still, both sources agree that Pinellas Park earned the Week Seven victory.
Dunedin shocks Largo
Dunedin entered Friday looking for a signature victory after a difficult opening stretch. The Falcons found one. Dunedin defeated Largo 29-22 in a competitive non-district matchup. Largo entered Week Seven after consecutive losses against Clearwater and Gaither. The Packers hoped to end that skid against Dunedin. Instead, Dunedin handed Largo its third consecutive defeat. The result represented a significant turnaround for the Falcons. Dunedin entered the matchup with only one victory through five games.
Calvary Christian rolls past Northside
Calvary Christian continued its impressive season with another convincing performance. The Warriors defeated Northside Christian 39-0 in St. Petersburg. Calvary entered the matchup with a 4-1 record. Northside Christian entered at 1-5. The Warriors never allowed Northside to create enough offensive momentum. Calvary now carries another impressive victory into the final portion of its schedule.
Cardinal Mooney hands CCC its first loss
Clearwater Central Catholic entered Week Seven unbeaten and faced one of its toughest assignments. Cardinal Mooney defeated CCC 47-35 in Sarasota. The loss dropped the Marauders to 5-1. Cardinal Mooney running back Connail Jackson rushed for more than 200 yards and scored twice. Seneca Hawthorne added 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Sanders also produced a game-sealing interception return for a touchdown. Despite the loss, CCC scored 35 points against a strong opponent. The Marauders now must regroup quickly as the schedule continues getting tougher.
South Lake edges Boca Ciega
Boca Ciega traveled to Groveland looking to continue its improved season. However, South Lake earned a 28-22 victory over the Pirates. Boca Ciega entered Friday with a 3-2 record. The Pirates had already shown considerable improvement from recent seasons. Unfortunately, South Lake prevented Boca Ciega from adding another victory. The Pirates now turn their attention toward another important stretch of their schedule.
St. Petersburg Catholic wins a thriller
St. Petersburg Catholic and Zephyrhills Christian Academy produced one of Friday’s highest-scoring Pinellas matchups. The Barons escaped with a 41-36 victory. St. Petersburg Catholic entered Week Seven with a 2-3 record. Therefore, the victory moved the Barons back to .500 at 3-3. More importantly, St. Petersburg Catholic showed enough offense to survive a 36-point performance from Zephyrhills Christian.
Indian Rocks Christian falls on the road
Indian Rocks Christian faced a difficult road assignment against Mount Dora Christian Academy. Mount Dora Christian won 32-21. Indian Rocks entered the matchup at 2-4. Mount Dora Christian entered with four victories through five games. The Golden Eagles kept the game competitive but could not complete the road upset.
Lakeside Christian falls in district matchup
Lakeside Christian hosted Sports Leadership & Management in an important district matchup. SLAM earned a 20-6 victory over Lakeside Christian. Lakeside entered the night at 4-2, while SLAM carried a 5-1 record. The loss prevented Lakeside from gaining valuable ground during the season’s final stretch.
Keswick Christian result creates a scheduling discrepancy
Keswick Christian’s Week Seven information contains another conflict among published sources. The original Week Seven schedule listed Keswick traveling to Taylor for a 6 p.m. game. However, the statewide final scoreboard lists Sarasota Christian defeating Keswick Christian 36-15. A Sarasota-area Week Seven recap also reports that same 36-15 result. Therefore, Sarasota Christian’s 36-15 victory represents the supported reported result. Keswick fell to 3-2 with the loss. Three games still lack verified final scores Three games from the original Pinellas Week Seven schedule still lack verified results on major scoreboards.
Those games include Southeast at Osceola and St. Petersburg at Lakewood. MaxPreps currently shows no reported final for either matchup. The original schedule also listed Northeast against Parkridge Christian. However, other sources list Northeast with an open week. That conflict makes it unsafe to report a Northeast result without additional confirmation.
Week Seven shakes up Pinellas football
Week Seven provided plenty of significant developments throughout Pinellas County. Pinellas Park produced a dominant response after its Week Six loss. Meanwhile, Dunedin earned a notable victory against Largo. Calvary Christian continued rolling, while St. Petersburg Catholic returned to .500. However, Clearwater Central Catholic suffered its first defeat after starting 5-0. Boca Ciega, Indian Rocks Christian, Lakeside Christian, and Keswick Christian also suffered losses.
Now, the regular season enters an increasingly important stretch. District races will become clearer, and playoff positioning will start carrying additional importance. For Pinellas County football, Week Seven showed how quickly momentum can change during a single Friday night. I specifically avoided inventing the missing results and flagged the conflicting Pinellas Park and Keswick information. That keeps the recap aligned with the currently available sources.
