The first episode of WWE Raw after SummerSlam 2026 wasted no time creating fresh rivalries and moving major storylines forward. Roman Reigns celebrated another successful World Heavyweight Championship defense after defeating Seth “Freakin” Rollins at SummerSlam. However, his celebration ended quickly when LA Knight interrupted him and demanded another championship opportunity. Their confrontation immediately energized the crowd and reminded everyone that Knight remains a serious contender for the world title.
Knight confidently reminded Reigns that he pushed him to the limit during their previous encounters. He also accused Reigns of relying on The Bloodline to survive their last title match. Reigns fired back with his usual confidence, yet Knight matched every verbal shot. The exchange established Knight as a legitimate challenger and added fresh momentum to the championship picture. Instead of backing down, Knight promised to send Reigns “back to factory settings” if they met again. The segment ended with both stars standing tall and building anticipation for another showdown.
The night’s first match featured Je’Von Evans against Ethan Page. Page controlled much of the contest with his strength and experience. Still, Evans refused to stay down and continued fighting through every attack. Late in the match, Page attempted to expose the top turnbuckle. The referee caught him before he could use it. That distraction created the opening Evans needed. He quickly delivered the OG Cutter and pinned Page for the victory. Although Evans earned an impressive win, his celebration ended almost immediately. Big Cass made his long-awaited WWE return and attacked Evans without hesitation. Cass overwhelmed the young star with a brutal assault before leaving him laid out inside the ring. The return instantly established Cass as a dangerous force on Raw. His backstage interview later reinforced that message. Cass warned the locker room that Evans represented only the beginning of his path of destruction.
Liv Morgan also addressed the WWE Universe following her successful Women’s World Championship victory over Iyo Sky at SummerSlam. Morgan praised herself while celebrating alongside fellow Judgment Day members Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. She claimed nobody remained capable of taking her championship. However, Sol Ruca interrupted the celebration and reminded Morgan that unfinished business still existed between them. Ruca then faced Perez in singles competition. Both competitors delivered a competitive match filled with fast-paced offense and several near falls. Ruca appeared ready to secure the victory before Judgment Day interfered. Their attack forced the referee to end the match by disqualification, giving Ruca the official victory.
Judgment Day continued attacking Ruca until Becky Lynch returned to a huge ovation. Lynch immediately cleared the ring and confronted Morgan. She criticized the champion and demanded another Women’s World Championship opportunity before Morgan could avoid defending the title again. Moments later, Stephanie Vaquer made her long-awaited return. Vaquer attacked Morgan and reignited her rivalry with the champion. The closing stare down between Lynch and Vaquer suggested another major rivalry could soon develop while both women chase Morgan’s championship. Fresh off his Hell in a Cell victory over Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Oba Femi addressed the WWE Universe. Before entering the arena, Femi approached Paul Heyman backstage and asked him to thank Lesnar for the battle they shared. Inside the ring, Femi declared himself the new standard on Raw. He challenged anyone willing to test him after defeating one of WWE’s toughest competitors.
Bron Breakker answered that challenge without saying a word. Breakker walked onto the stage and stood face-to-face with Femi. Neither man blinked as the crowd erupted. Their intense stare down hinted at one of Raw’s biggest future rivalries between two rising stars. Breakker later competed against Joe Hendry. The powerhouse wasted little time taking control despite briefly crashing into the ring steps. Hendry created a few openings, but Breakker quickly recovered. He finished the match with a devastating spear for the victory. Afterward, Austin Theory attacked Hendry until Akira Tozawa ran to the ring for the save. While the post-match chaos shifted attention elsewhere, Breakker’s dominant performance reinforced his growing momentum.
The Intercontinental Championship scene also stayed busy. Chad Gable teamed with Penta against Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh of Judgment Day. The heels isolated Gable for much of the match before he finally reached Penta for the hot tag. The action quickly accelerated as all four competitors traded momentum. Penta delivered a Mexican Destroyer to McDonagh on the arena floor before returning to help Gable. Mysterio attempted his usual shortcut by loading his boot for an illegal strike. Gable stopped the cheating attempt, allowing Penta to even the odds with the Intercontinental Championship. Gable capitalized by hitting Chaos Theory to secure the victory. The win strengthened Gable’s position as champion while continuing Judgment Day’s ongoing struggles.
Raw closed with a violent Street Fight between Royce Keys and Jacob Fatu. Their personal rivalry exploded throughout the arena as they used steel chairs, kendo sticks, and every available weapon. Both competitors absorbed incredible punishment while refusing to quit. Keys even drove Fatu through two steel chairs for a dramatic near fall. Fatu answered with an implant DDT onto the chairs before continuing his relentless attack. The match reached another level when Fatu connected with his signature top-rope moonsault. He immediately followed with the Tongan Death Grip and forced Keys to submit. The victory restored Fatu’s dominance after his SummerSlam defeat and reminded everyone why he remains one of WWE’s most dangerous competitors.
Following the match, Roman Reigns appeared and acknowledged Fatu before leaving the ring. Backstage, Rey Mysterio stopped Reigns and proposed a business opportunity involving AAA. The conversation ended without revealing details, but it teased another intriguing storyline involving WWE’s growing relationship with the promotion. Overall, Raw successfully carried SummerSlam’s momentum into the next chapter. The show introduced new rivalries, welcomed several major returns, and strengthened existing championship stories. LA Knight stepped back into the world title picture, Big Cass returned with authority, Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer reshaped the women’s division, and Bron Breakker appeared ready for a collision with Oba Femi. Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu ended the night by reminding the WWE Universe exactly how destructive he can be. The post-SummerSlam edition of Raw delivered meaningful developments across the entire roster while creating strong anticipation for the weeks ahead
