SEATTLE, WA — The Seattle Torrent secured their first-ever franchise win on Wednesday night, defeating the New York Sirens 2-1 in a heart-stopping finish at Climate Pledge Arena. The victory was a dramatic, come-from-behind effort, as the Torrent rallied from a late 1-0 deficit with two goals in the final 90 seconds, one immediately following the other.

The game was a tight, defensive battle for over 55 minutes, with the Sirens taking an early lead just three minutes into the first period on an even-strength goal by Paetyn Levis. New York’s defense, anchored by strong play from goaltender Kayle Osborne, held that 1-0 lead for the majority of the contest.

The momentum of the game irrevocably shifted late in the third period when New York’s Kristýna Kaltounková was assessed a major checking-from-behind penalty and a game misconduct with four minutes remaining.
