Aliquippa Quips Report

WPIAL Championships (20) | PIAA Championships (5)
Week Five: #1 Aliquippa Quips (3-1) at #3 New Castle Hurricanes (4-1), 7:00 PM
For the 2nd week in a row, Aliquippa needed a 4th quarter comeback to find victory. It was also the 2nd straight week that the Quips were scoreless through three quarters.
On the final play of the game, Marques Council fired a 28 yard touchdown pass to Ray Miller to stun Penn Hills 21-16.
If the Quips plan on holding on to their #1 ranking in 4A, they had better find their offense quickly, as the New Castle Hurricanes have not allowed a single point in four out of their five games.
Council has now thrown for 831 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. He’s rushed for 203 yards.
Joseph Work leads the Quips with 213 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Josh Lay has 18 catches for 340 yards and a touchdown, while Qa’Lil Goode has 12 receptions for 266 yards and four touchdowns.
The Hurricanes are lead by quarterback Marino Graham, who has 537 yards passing, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions. Graham also leads the team with 443 yards on the ground and another five touchdowns.
Kai Cox is Graham’s main receiver with 14 catches for 257 yards and five touchdowns, while Chase Lemmon has 12 receptions for 125 yards and four touchdowns.
Jermaine Walker has rushed for 158 yards, while Roderick Proctor has produced 142 yards on the ground.
