It is not every day that an athlete from Merrimack College receives the chance of a lifetime—and it is even rarer to get that chance twice. However, former Warriors standout Dominika Lásková can now make that claim. On Tuesday, the Czechia National Team made their final roster public for the 2026 Winter Olympics, confirming that Laskova will be heading to Italy next month.
For the second time in her illustrious career, Lásková will represent her country on the biggest stage in sports. The defender from Prague, Czech Republic, was a cornerstone for Merrimack, appearing in 67 games for the Warriors. During her collegiate career, she recorded 31 points (9 goals, 22 assists) before graduating after the 2022 season to pursue professional hockey across the globe.
A Trailblazing Professional Career
Lásková’s professional journey has been defined by “firsts” and championships:
- The PHF: Her first professional stop was in the Premier Federation of Hockey, where she helped her squad capture the prestigious Isobel Cup.
- The PWHL: She made history as the first player from the Merrimack program to be selected in the PWHL Draft, going 19th overall to the Montreal Victoire.
- The SDHL: After a season in Montreal, Lásková moved to Sweden to play for SDE HF in the SDHL. She has been a vital force there this season, tallying five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 28 games.
A Pillar of the National Team
Representing her country has become second nature to Lásková. She has competed in five World Championships for Czechia, playing a total of 32 games and scoring 17 points. Her international resume includes:
- Two IIHF Bronze Medals.
- Twice being named a Top-3 Player on her team during tournament play.
- 84 total international appearances with 37 career points.
The Road to Milano-Cortina
During the last Winter Olympics, Lásková was a workhorse, playing in all five games for Czechia. She was instrumental in helping the team navigate the group stage to reach the quarterfinals. While the team ultimately finished in 7th place, they enter the 2026 games with higher expectations and a more seasoned roster.
Lásková and the Czechia National Team will begin their Olympic quest on February 5, when they face off against a powerhouse Team USA squad in their opening game of the tournament.
