PIAA 4A Semifinals: Aliquippa Quips (10-3) vs Twin Valley Raiders (13-0)
Date: Friday, November 28th at 7:00 PM
Venue: Mifflin County High School
On a rainy night at Slippery Rock University, the Aliquippa Quips were all business. Oil City might have felt good on the bus ride over, but in the end, they had no chance, as the Quips took care of business 28-6.
This Friday night, the Quips head three and a half hours away to take on Twin Valley at Mifflin County High School at 7:00 PM. The Raiders get the benefit of a travel time of an hour and a half.
The winner will head to the PIAA State Championship to face the winner of Southern Lehigh and Cardinal O’Hara on Thursday, December 4th, at Cumberland Valley HS.
For Aliquippa, quarterback Marques Council has passed for 1,299 yards, 13 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and has rushed for 231 yards.
Josh Lay leads the team with 32 receptions for 536 yards and four touchdowns. Qa’Lil Goode is 2nd on the team with 28 receptions for 485 yards, adding 139 yards rushing and 12 total touchdowns.
J.J. Work has rushed for 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. Akiva Woods has 559 yards rushing and six total TD’s.
Twin Valley has a pair of 1,000 yard rushers that carry their explosive offense. Drew Engle has 1,855 yards rushing, while Lucas Myers has 1,098 yards on the ground.
