PHILADELPHIA – The Eagles keep flying and showcasing just how good they are. The 7-1 Philadelphia Eagles take on the division rival Dallas Cowboys (5-2) in an epic showdown that could go either way. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has 2,140 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns so far this season. However, Hurts is struggling to minimize turnovers. He threw eight interceptions so far this year so he will need to improve his passing accuracy fast. The Eagles have the third-best offense statistically in the NFL, only trailing the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins in that category. The matchup to watch is this Eagles offense against the Dallas Cowboys defense which is the third-best unit in the NFL at number three behind the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. The Cowboys defense might take advantage of Hurts’ struggles with throwing interceptions.

The Cowboys offense is putting up decent numbers but can improve drastically overall. Dallas ranks number 15 in total offense despite all the big-time playmakers. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 1,637 yards and 10 touchdowns so far this season. That number should be much higher as he’s more than capable of better numbers, especially with receivers Cee Dee Lamb, Micheal Gallup, and Brandin Cooks. There is too much speed on this offense to not have better numbers. Also, Running back Tony Pollard is one of the best offensive playmakers in the league. Therefore, that should take a lot of pressure off of Prescott. The Cowboys defense features playmakers such as veteran Cornerback Stephon Gilmore, linebacker Micah Parsons, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith. The Cowboys injury report looks very bad as Cooks, Gallup, Gilmore, Defensive End DeMarcus Lawrence, Safety Jayron Kearse, and Guard Zack Martin among others are all on it. No one was officially listed as out yet. The Eagles won’t have several players as Tight End Grant Calcaterra, Guard Cam Jurgens, Cornerback Bradley Roby, and Runningback Boston Scott are out.

How will this game go? This is a tossup so it’s very hard to predict the outcome. These games tend to be the best “chess matches” we see. This is the first matchup this season between these teams. They will play again on December 10 in a primetime showdown at 8:10 p.m. This should be one of the top games of the 2023 season.

Prediction:

Eagles 31 Cowboys 28

Other top NFL games:

Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) vs Miami Dolphins (6-2)

Baltimore Ravens (6-2) vs Seattle Seahawks (5-2)

Cincinnati Bengals (4-3) vs Buffalo Bills (5-3)
