The football men of UConn got on the field at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium this past Saturday. This is all done in preparation for the upcoming football season. It’s a chance t get a look at the returning players and the first look at the incoming freshmen.
Instead of a full scrimmage, the Huskies put their time into competitive situations. They worked on things such as goal line and red zone situations. They put in work on short yardage and two-minute drills. In one of those two-minute drills, So, DB Alfred Chea got a pick-six, and another pair of freshmen combined for a five-yard score by QB Brayden Zermeno and WR Teddy Williams.
Head coach Jim Mora likes what he saw out of his quarterbacks and said there has been good and healthy competition there. He also said, “I think our passing game has really improved a ton. I think we are still running the ball well. We are much farther along than we ever were at this point last year. I’m excited.”
