As the second weekend of play in the XFL wraps up, I want to showcase some more former New England college football players that are playing in the league. The Boston College football program has five former members playing in the league. Isaiah Graham, Trae Barry, Lukas Dennis, Brandon Sebastian, and Max Roberts have all made XFL rosters. This week we look at their BC careers and how they got to this point in their football careers.
Max Roberts is on the Vegas Vipers roster. He has appeared in both games played by the Vipers. Max has two solo tackles, one assisted tackle, three sacks, three tackles for losses, and five total tackles. He has forced two fumbles while recovering neither of them. The 6-1, 250 lbs. defensive end played a graduate year at BC after spending time at Maine playing for the Black Bears. During the 2020 season at BC, Max played in 10 games and totaled 22 tackles of which 14 were unassisted. He had four and a half sacks to his credit with six tackles for losses. At Maine in 2019, Roberts played in 11 games. He had 19 tackles, four for loss, and four sacks. He also had a pair of forced fumbles and one pass deflection and played three years at Fordham before landing in Maine. In 20 games played, he had 74 tackles, 13.5 for loss, six and a half sacks, and three forced fumbles with one recovered fumble.
Trae Barry is with the D.C. Defenders. The former tight end of the Eagles has not caught a pass yet in the XFL. At Boston College, he played one season in which he caught 21 passes for 362 yards and four touchdowns. He came to BC from Jacksonville State where he played three years for the Gamecocks. At 6-6, 244 lbs. his best year with Jacksonville State was in 2020 when he had 33 catches for 534 yards and one score. He earned FCS AP All-American second-team honors for that season.
Lukas Dennis is with the St.Louis Battlehawks. The 5-11, 185 lbs. defensive back has appeared in both games. He has registered four assisted tackles, three solo tackles, and seven total tackles. Has not forced any fumbles or recovered one, and has no INTs. Lukas played 40 games at Boston College and recorded 139 total tackles (82 solo, 57 assisted), one tackle for loss, a half sack, nine interceptions, and three forced fumbles. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
Luckas has a former college teammate with him in St. Louis Brandon, Brandon Sabastian. He played four years with the Eagles and totaled 44 games played, with 141 tackles (108 solo, 33 assisted), four tackles for loss, and one sack. He had eight career interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovered. He reached the end zone twice during his BC career. The 6-0, 178 lbs. DB has yet to make an impact with the Battlehawks. He did sign an undrafted deal with the Los Angeles Chargers back in May of 2022.
Isaiah Graham-Mobley is with the Arlington Renegades. He played one year at Boston College appearing in nine games and totaled 52 tackles at the linebacker position. 34 were solo, 18 assisted, with two and a half sacks, Before coming to BC, Mobley spent four seasons at Temple where he played in 34 games for the Owls, had six sacks, 11 tackles for loss, three fumbles recovered, with 158 total tackles. He also spent time on Temple’s special team unit. Mobley has seen little time so far with the Renegades.
That’ll get you up to date with BC players playing in the XFL.
