NFL Week 15 Game of the Week: Bills vs. Dolphins

Read Time:3 Minute, 32 Second

ORCHARD PARK – The Buffalo Bills (11-3) will take on the Miami Dolphins (8-5) in their second showdown of the NFL season. This Saturday Night extravaganza is the third game of three for today’s games. This second division showdown between these will start at 8:15 Eastern Time. The first game between these teams was very exciting and had a close finish. There is a very good chance that will happen again. Bills quarterback Josh Allen keeps having his way against defenses with the help of receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis.

The feared Bills defense is also making big things happen week after week. This juggernaut defensive unit keeps shutting down opposing offenses and disrupting opponents’ offensive game plans. It’s as if teams need contingency plans on offense just to try to even things out. That’s never easy when you typically practice using one offensive game plan all week.

On the other side, the Dolphins track meet group of receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle can consistently win against one on one coverage. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can keep having his way against defenses when he’s healthy. He’s a great improviser but we all keep seeing the same thing, one bad hit can ruin everything. Although his improvising ability can help extend plays and give defenses one more thing to worry about, it’s also obvious that Tagovailoa needs to start developing more as a pocket passer. Otherwise, his NFL career could be very short.

For the Dolphins’ defense, it would be a huge benefit if cornerback Xavien Howard picks off one of Allen’s passes today. Howard has one interception all season. He had five interceptions in 2021 and 10 in 2020. Of course, it’s not realistic to expect such high numbers every season but Howard is due for an interception. Will it happen today?

Prediction:

Bills 27 Dolphin 24

Other top games:

Washington Commanders (7-5-1) vs. New York Giants (7-5-1)

In another top division game, the surprise team of the NFL Washington Commanders takes on another surprise team the New York Giants in their second showdown between these two teams. This Will be the Sunday night primetime game starting at 8:20 Eastern Time. Will Commanders receiver “Scary” Terry McLaurin have his way or will the Giants pass defense step it up?

Will Giants running back Saquon Barkley play tomorrow? The Giants really need him. Barkley continues to play despite a recent neck injury. In the last four games, he rushed for no more than 65 yards.

Prediction

Commanders 27 Giants 21

Los Angeles Chargers (7-6) vs Tennessee Titans (7-7)

This is a very important game for both teams and it could go either way. The Chargers are having a hard time consistently winning. Part of that seems to be the fact that Keenan Allen misses a few games. When Allen is playing, the Chargers look like a different team. Quarterback Justin Herbert might be in for a big game as the Titans’ defense tends to struggle. Receiver Mike Williams might have a big game as well.

On the other side, the Titans need to do a better job offensively and defensively. The fact this team is 7-6 is a miracle and the team is benefiting from being in the underperforming AFC South.

Things aren’t the same after nearly one full season after the A.J. Brown trade. The Titans need to get it together and not be a one-dimensional team that just runs the ball effectively. Although Titans running back Derrick Henry can’t be stopped by any defense, it’s unfair to expect him to save the team every time. Henry is the best running back in the NFL when healthy but he can’t do it all by himself. At some point, this team has to start getting it together with the passing game and defense. Something “has to give” in this game.

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has 2,371 yards and 13 passing touchdowns, ranking 19th and 20th in the NFL. If the Titans could have avoided trading Brown and were willing to extend his contract, Tannehill wouldn’t struggle like this.

Prediction:

Chargers 35 Titans 27
