NFL Week Nine: Chiefs vs Titans Game of the Week

Read Time:2 Minute, 51 Second

KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Chiefs (5-2) and the Tennessee Titans struggled right out of the gate in the first few weeks. Since then, they’ve played like two unstoppable teams on a collision course. Tomorrow night is when the fun begins. These teams will face off starting at 8:20 p.m. Eastern Time in what is sure to be a sold-out, electric playoff atmosphere. This is the kind of excitement we need mid-season in the NFL.

Playoff positioning continues to be on the line so these two teams are ready to play their best football of the year! Who will ultimately prevail? Will it be Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes with his top-notch offensive playmakers like tight end Travis Kelce? Will Titans running back “King” Derrick Henry have his way and lead the Titans to an amazing win on the road in one of the NFL’s toughest stadiums, the historic “Arrowhead Stadium” (renamed GEHA Field recently)? This game has the feel of a contest that could go either way as neither team has much of an edge at all.

The Chiefs feature the second-best offense statistically in the NFL just behind the Buffalo Bills. The Titans’ offense is actually struggling as they rank worst in the NFL in overall offense. However, if the Titans’ passing game gets on track, that can suddenly change. The Titans have one of the best rushing totals overall with an average of 138 rushing yards per game.

Prediction:

Chiefs 35 Titans 31

New York Jets (5-3) vs Buffalo Bills (6-1)

Two of the AFC’s juggernauts will face off tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. We have the in-state rivalry of the New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills. It’s a real shock that we’re even giving this game any attention at all when we consider the New York Jets weren’t supposed to be this good! This team definitely was on the rise with a few solid drafts but now the pieces are coming together and the Jets are ready for a playoff run. Should they win this one, the Jets will be in a prime postseason position. This test against the AFC’s top team will prove whether or not the Jets are ready for the playoffs. A win against Buffalo will be a huge boost. A close game will give the team hope and confidence that they’re trending in the right direction.

However, the Bills’ triple threat on offense of quarterback Josh Allen, receiver Stephon Diggs, and receiver Gabriel Davis won’t make this easy. The Jets defense needs to step it up in this game.

Prediction

Bills 31 Jets 28

Atlanta Falcons (4-4) vs Los Angeles Chargers (4-3)

This game has a “must-win” feel for both teams. The NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons are one of the best surprises in the NFL. The NFC South isn’t doing much at all so this is a big step in claiming the division crown. Who thought this would ever be written in 2022? The Falcons are making things happen in Atlanta and a win tomorrow against the AFC West’s number two team, the Chargers, would be a much-needed confidence boost for the Falcons and the Atlanta fan base. Will Marcus Mariota have another solid performance or will he be outperformed by Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert?

Prediction

Falcons 28 Chargers 24
