Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Pepsi vs Coke. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2022-23 Against All Odds Champion?

Let the good times keep rolling.

The last few weeks have been good for the Drakulich’s, which is at least something to enjoy, as the rest of the teams that reside in Pittsburgh have sucked out loud.

It’s bad enough to put up with the Pirates year in and year out, but now the Steelers are 2-6, Pitt football has fallen off the cliff, and the Penguins have dropped six straight games.

What in thee hell is going on around here?

Both my dad and I went 6-4 in Week nine, which is good enough to put me two games above .500 at 41-39, while dad is still two games back at 39-41.

Week 10

Against All Odds Lines as of 11/2/2022

NCAA

Saturday, November 5th

West Virginia (3-5) at Iowa State (3-5)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Jack Trice stadium, Ames, IA.

Vegas Line: Iowa State -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Iowa State | MJD: Iowa State

WVU never plays well on the road, so the smart money goes with Iowa State at home.

#15 Penn State (6-2) at Indiana (3-5)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Memorial Stadium, Bloomington, IN.

Vegas Line: Penn State -13.5

The Pick: PSN: Penn State | MJD: Penn State

This game makes me nervous, but Penn State should have enough offense to cover vs Indiana.

#20 Syracuse (6-2) at Pitt (4-4)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: Pitt -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Pitt | MJD: Pitt

Pitt is back to being Pitt, but Syracuse is vastly overrated. The Panthers finally get a win after two beatings in a row handed out to them.

#1 Tennessee (8-0) at #3 Georgia (8-0)

Game Time: 3:30 PM at Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA.

Vegas Line: Georgia -8.5

The Pick: PSN: Tennessee | MJD: Georgia

The Game of the Week… Georgia may win this game, but there is no way in hell they are beating the Vols by more than 8.5 points. Etch that in stone.

#6 Alabama at #10 LSU (6-2)

Game Time: 7:00 PM at Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge, LA.

Vegas Line: Alabama -13.5

The Pick: PSN: LSU | MJD: Alabama

Alabama will be out for blood, but LSU plays pretty good at home. I like the Tigers to cover.

NFL

Sunday, November 6th

Carolina (2-6) at Cincinnati (4-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Paycor Stadium, Cincinnati, OH.

Vegas Line: Cincinnati -7.5

The Pick: PSN: Cincinnati | MJD: Cincinnati

The Bengals aren’t looking like contenders, especially after the beating they took by Cleveland last week. If Joe Burrows and crew can’t beat Carolina, woe be them…

Green Bay (3-5) at Detroit (1-6)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Ford Field, Detroit, MI.

Vegas Line: Green Bay -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Green Bay | MJD: Green Bay

Green Bay is running out of time to make a push for the playoffs. The offense is average, at best. The Packers had better find a way this week vs the lowly Lions.

Buffalo (6-1) at NY Jets (5-3)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.

Vegas Line: Buffalo -12.5

The Pick: PSN: Buffalo | MJD: NY Jets

Buffalo will roll over the Jets, who have proved themselves as pretenders.

Minnesota (6-1) at Washington (4-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at FedEx Field, Landover, MD.

Vegas Line: Minnesota -3.5

The Pick: PSN: Minnesota | MJD: Minnesota

Minnesota doesn’t dominate opposing teams, but they find ways to win. The Vikings will do so again this week vs Washington.

Tennessee (5-2) at Kansas City (5-2)

Game Time: 8:20 PM at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO.

Vegas Line: Kansas City -12.5

The Pick: PSN: Tennessee | MJD: Kansas City

Kansas City could blow away the Titans with the quarterback problems they have been hampered with, but Derrick Henry will keep this game in check with his legs.

Against All Odds Pick Results

PSN: Last Week: 6-4 | Overall: 41-39  .513   —

MJD: Last Week: 6-4 | Overall: 39-41  .488    -2
