LOS ANGELES – The Super Bowl winner Los Angeles Rams will challenge the AFC juggernaut Buffalo Bills in a Thursday Night primetime extravaganza. The NFL will kick off the regular season with this very exciting matchup. Get your popcorn, pizza, and buffalo wings ready! This is could be one exciting showdown for the ages!
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has the sort of year he could never have in Detroit. It became obvious that the Rams had a clear vision for Stafford and the team’s overall success. The Lions couldn’t give him the opportunity to make the playoffs, let alone win the Super Bowl. The Rams no longer have Robert Woods and O’Dell Beckham. However, receiver Cooper Kupp can get a lot done on his own. Newcomer, Allen Robinson should also give the Rams’ offense an edge over the Bills’ defense. Running Back Cam Akers might have a breakout season as well.
The Bills had the fifth-best offense in the league in 2021 and the top overall defense. Having one of the league’s top cornerbacks on the roster, Tre’Davious White was a big reason why. However, White was placed on the physically unable to perform list and won’t play Thursday Night. It will be interesting to see how the Bills’ defense contains Stafford, Kupp, and Akers without their top defensive player.
The Rams defense led by Aaron Donald will face the test of slowing down Quarterback Josh Allen and receiver Stephon Diggs. The Bills also feature a rising star in receiver Gabriel Davis. In fact, Davis and Diggs are expected to record over 1,000 receiving yards each! Running back Devin Singletary needs to get more involved on offense. Hopefully, he’ll manage to record over 1,000 rushing yards and at least eight touchdowns.
Prediction:
With White missing the game for the Bills, the advantage goes to the Los Angeles Rams. Coming off a Super Bowl, the team will have a lot of energy and confidence. Although there were some changes on offense, the Rams will have the advantage. It’s also worth remembering the Rams gave one of the top cornerbacks in the league, Jalen Ramsey. Los Angeles may be good enough to repeat as Super Bowl Champions. This game is the perfect measuring stick and will prepare the Rams for the toughest opponents on their schedule. Should the Rams win this, it’ll go a long way to ensuring the team wins its second consecutive Super Bowl. Will the Rams get it done? Here is a prediction for the final score.
Rams 35 Bills 21.
