There’s nothing like watching a football game on a fall Sunday. The weather is cool, the food is great, and the games are exciting. But what do you do when you’re bored watching football? Here are some ideas to keep you entertained.

Grab a drink

Chances are, you have a lot of snacks at hand in your kitchen already from the big game. However, don’t forget to stay hydrated – it helps you focus. Getting something special in can make the game more of an occasion.

Flip through a magazine

People often keep magazines near their couches just in case they get bored or need something to read while watching television. If you do have magazines, go through them and see what looks interesting enough to keep your eyes on for at least 30 seconds.

Listen to music

If you’re not in it for the game, listening to music is a great way to pass the time. Put on an album and find something to occupy your hands with, whether it’s a craft or just some knitting.

Get some food

It’s never a bad time for food! Go into the kitchen and whip up some snacks to munch on while you’re watching. If you have friends over, call them in there with you so they don’t feel awkward about sitting by themselves in another room.

Play online slots

If you have a couple of hours to kill and you’re not looking for anything too complex, why not play some casino slots? Just make sure the game has good overall reviews like trusted casinos. Slots are perfect for a quick burst of energy and excitement, due to their quick nature. The goal is to match up various symbols that affect your bonus, making it a simple yet thrilling game to play. Do some chores around the house

If you really want to pass the time, do some chores around your house. You can always find something that needs doing and it’s better than just sitting and watching television all day. Just don’t forget about the game!

Play a video game

The original problem with watching football alone is that there isn’t another person to play with. Playing a video game with friends online can be just as fun and gives you something to do when the game isn’t on.

Read a book

Like reading magazines, it’s always good to keep books around for entertainment. You can read them while the game is on or look through your library for something interesting enough to keep your attention for a few hours.

Chat to friends

If you’re lucky enough to have friends who are just as enthralled in the game, chat with them about what’s happened so far. You can talk about the game plan or just complain about your team’s performance.

Draw or paint

There is no reason that you can’t bring out some paper and a drawing utensil and start drawing or painting. You can draw the players on the field, your food, or just a picture of your television.

Play with your pets

Pets are always good for entertainment because they don’t mind if you spend hours talking to them or playing fetch with them. They love any form of attention from their owners and are great ways to keep entertained.

Get a chant going

Sometimes it’s hard to be a football fan, especially if you’re following the New York Giants at the moment! If you’re watching a football game with at least one other person, get a chant going to make it more fun. You don’t have to chant the entire time but chanting one team’s name in unison is great for morale and getting in the spirit of things.

Play some mobile games

Playing mobile games is a great way to kill time when you’re watching football. You can play the same game that the players on TV are playing or just pass time by playing mini-games to keep you occupied. Make sure your phone is charged, though!

Watch a movie

If you really don’t want to watch football at all, just put on a movie or television show that happens to be on while you’re watching. Keep a list of the ones that you want to watch and wait until you get bored enough to turn on a movie.

Take a nap

If all else fails, take a nap. Sleeping for an hour or two isn’t going to hurt you and might help you avoid getting tired towards the end of the game when everything gets exciting.

At least you’re not bored anymore!
