What Is the Best Way to Bet on Basketball?

Few team sports are faster-paced than basketball, so fans make millions of bets on games worldwide every day.

Land-based sportsbooks simply can’t match the game’s dynamics, so I think the best way to bet on basketball is through a mobile app.

Basketball Betting Apps

In the following sections, I will highlight the best mobile apps to bet on basketball games across the globe.

BetUS

Founded in 1994, BetUS has recently launched a fantastic basketball betting app. Fans of the game can bet on the hottest College and NBA matches, including the All-Stars Game.

And while the betting options aren’t as many as their competitors’, BetUS’s basketball betting app is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

There is a $125 Welcome bonus, and online bettors can make a deposit by credit card, bank transfer, or any of the three accepted cryptocurrencies.

DraftKings

In February 2020, DraftKings expanded its betting portfolio with three mid-tier teams from the National Basketball Association (NBA): Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Boston Celtics.

The multi-level partnership includes fantasy sports betting, sportsbook, and online casino. DraftKings’ basketball betting portfolio is already impressive.

It spans not only NBA’s top and mid-tier franchises but also the Euroleague, College Basketball, and the national leagues of Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, Poland, and Sweden.

To take advantage of the generous DraftKings promo code, you have to open an account first. The whole process takes less than half an hour to complete.

Once your data has been verified, you’ll be able to make your first bet. For the time being, this operator does not accept bets in cryptocurrencies.

Common Basketball Bets

Here are the most common bets you can make in a basketball game. As with all other bets, the bigger the favorite is, the smaller profit your bet will bring.

Moneyline Bets

Most basketball money lines use the so-called “American odds.” The favorite usually has a negative number by their name, while the underdog has a positive one.

If both teams have a negative number, the close to zero indicates the favorite. Most online sportsbooks allow the bettor to switch between American and decimal odds. The latter seems to be better known in Europe.

Point Spread Bets

As with money lines, the favorite has a negative value by their name and the challenger – a positive one. Thus, if team A has a point spread value of – 10, they have to win by more than 10 points to bring you cash.

If they win by precisely ten points, it’s a push-tie bet, and you’ll be at the breakeven point. In other words, the sportsbook will refund your bet without any profit.

If you bet on the underdog with a point spread of +10 points, you will win even if your team loses by less than ten points.

Point Spread Payout

Basketball point spread bets are paid out at money line odds of -110. Thus, if you make a $100 point spread bet and win, you will most likely profit $90.90.

Challenge Lady Luck with a Teaser Bet

If you think you know your favorite basketball league inside out, then you can try your luck with a teaser bet. Teaser bets allow you to move point spread lines in your favor at a specific cost. You can include at least two teams in your teaser.

Thus, a 2-team four-pint teaser will bring you a $17 profit with a $100 bet. The more teams you include, the higher your yield will be. If you move the lines by more than four points in your favor, the profit will drop further.
