Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA/NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (PSN), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2020-21 Against All Odds Champion?

Against All Odds: NCAA/NFL Picks Week 4

Lines as of 10/8/2020

Average was the word of the week as both my dad and I went 5-5. All kinds of superb match-ups this week so both of us will have our work cut out for us. I need a good week to get back above .500 and gain a few game on my dad who leads by three.

NCAA Football Games

Saturday, October 10th

#19 Virginia Tech Hokies (2-0) at #8 UNC Tar Heels (2-0)

Game Time: Noon at Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC.

Vegas Line: UNC -4.5

The Pick: PSN: UNC | MJD: Virginia Tech

Big time consequences for this game as ACC play heats up. I like the Tar Heels to make the cover at home.

#4 Florida Gators (2-0) at #21 Texas A&M Aggies (1-1)

Game Time: Noon at Kyle Field, College Station, TX.

Vegas Line: Florida -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Florida | MJD: Texas A&M

Tough road game for the Gators, but this is the environment true top five teams should thrive in.

Pitt Panthers (3-1) at Boston College Eagles (2-1)

Game Time: 4:00 PM at Alumni Stadium, Chestnut Hill, MA.

Vegas Line: Pitt -5.5

The Pick: PSN: Pitt | MJD: Pitt

Pitt looks to right the ship after a hugely disappointing loss to NC State last week. When will Pitt ever break through the ice that has built up for 40 years?

#7 Miami Hurricanes (3-0) at #1 Clemson Tigers (3-0)

Game Time: 7:30 PM at Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC.

Vegas Line: Clemson -14.5

The Pick: PSN: Miami | MJD: Clemson

Time to see what Miami is made of when they travel to Death Valley to face the #1 Tigers. Clemson has had a habit of not blowing teams away yet this year, and this week won’t be the exception.

Florida State Seminoles (1-2) at #5 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (2-0)

Game Time: 7:30 PM at Notre Dame Stadium, South Bend, IN.

Vegas Line: Notre Dame -20.5

The Pick: PSN: Notre Dame | MJD: Notre Dame

Florida State has come upon some dreary days, and that sky won’t clear up this week when they face the Irish in South Bend.

NFL

Sunday, October 11th

Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0) at Philadelphia Eagles (1-2-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA.

Vegas Line: Pittsburgh -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Pittsburgh | MJD: Pittsburgh

The Steelers look to sharpen up the offense as they come off a forced bye thanks to Tennessee. Might be a long painful day for Carson Wentz.

Carolina Panthers (2-2) at Atlanta Falcons (0-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA.

Vegas Line: Atlanta -1.5

The Pick: PSN: Atlanta | MJD: Carolina

Atlanta has choked more than their siblings in the Braves this year, blowing big lead after big lead. They finally break through this week with Carolina missing Christian McCaffrey for one more week.

Arizona Cardinals (2-2) at NY Jets (0-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ.

Vegas Line: Arizona -6.5

The Pick: PSN: Arizona | MJD: Arizona

The hapless Jets actually made the cover last week. I doubt they do that again.

LA Rams (3-1) at Washington Football Team (1-3)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at FedEx Field, Landover, MD.

Vegas Line: LA Rams -6.5

The Pick: PSN: LA Rams | MJD: LA Rams

The Rams failed to make the cover last week vs the terrible Jets. It had better not happen again…

Cincinnati Bengals (1-2-1) at Baltimore Ravens (3-1)

Game Time: 1:00 PM at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD.

Vegas Line: Baltimore-12.5

The Pick: PSN: Cincinnati | MJD: Baltimore

Crazy as it may seem, I like the Bengals and Joe Burrows to keep this game a little bit interesting. I’m betting you thought I was crazy last week when I took Cleveland, too, huh?
