The offense continued in the top of the third when Jarren Duran led off the inning after being hit by a pitch. After stealing a pair of bases, three-time All-Star Brandon Phillips flew out to center to drive in the second run of the night. Devlin Granberg ripped a one-out single and came in to score on a Kole Cottam triple to put the Spinners on top by three.

The following at-bat, Tyler Esplin doubled and advanced to third as Andre Colon reached on an error. Xavier LeGrant brought the go-ahead run home on a sac-fly with one out and Duran added an insurance run with a two-out single.
