The 2026 NFL season brings several fresh looks across the NFC. Four teams introduced major uniform changes this offseason. Several others added new alternate jerseys. The NFL also expanded its Rivalries uniform program for 2026. The NFC North received new designs alongside the AFC South. That creates plenty of competition for the best jersey in the conference. Some teams lean into tradition, while others embrace modern designs. Here is my ranking of all 16 NFC teams heading into 2026.
- Washington Commanders
Washington takes the top spot because its new collection balances history and modern style. The Commanders brought back their iconic burgundy and white combination. The design draws inspiration from the franchise’s Super Bowl era. The team also introduced the black “Hail Raiser” alternate. Its spear-inspired “W” helmet logo gives the uniform a distinct identity. Most importantly, the jerseys actually look like Washington football. The classic colors give the franchise a stronger visual identity. Grade: A+
- Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta made one of the NFC’s biggest uniform changes. The Falcons brought red back as the primary color. The new design also includes silver elements inspired by the original 1966 uniforms. The team retained its popular throwback look as well. That combination makes the new uniforms feel connected to Atlanta’s history. The Falcons avoided unnecessary gimmicks with this redesign. Instead, they created a cleaner and more traditional appearance. Grade: A
- Los Angeles Rams
The Rams did not completely reinvent themselves. Instead, they made several smart adjustments. Los Angeles simplified its uniform numbers and removed some of the previous design elements. The team also restored white pants to its rotation. The redesigned jerseys also use horn elements on the shoulders. That creates a stronger connection with the Rams’ identity. The Rams also have two new alternate uniforms planned for 2026. That gives Los Angeles one of the conference’s strongest overall uniform collections. Grade: A
- Green Bay Packers
Green Bay’s new Rivalries uniform takes a creative approach. The design reportedly connects with the Packers’ unique ownership structure. The concept uses green, gold, cream, and other vintage-inspired elements. Green Bay will wear the uniform against Chicago during the season. That concept fits the Packers particularly well. Green Bay rarely needs to change its traditional uniform. Therefore, a special alternate gives the franchise room to experiment. The design may not beat the classic Packers look. Still, it gives fans something different without losing the team’s identity. Grade: A-
- Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota’s new Rivalries jersey earns the fifth spot. The Vikings leaned into their Norse identity with the new design. Purple remains the dominant color, while gold and white provide additional details. The team will wear the new uniform against Detroit in Week 15. The design fits Minnesota’s branding extremely well. It also gives the Vikings another strong option beyond their traditional uniforms. However, Minnesota already has excellent uniform combinations. The Winter Warrior look remains tough competition. Grade: A-
- Seattle Seahawks
Seattle deserves plenty of credit for its 1990s-inspired throwbacks. The Seahawks will wear those uniforms during two primetime home games in 2026. The classic silver helmets remain one of the strongest parts of the design. Seattle also plans to bring back its Rivalries uniforms. That gives the Seahawks several attractive options. The 1990s design stands out because it feels authentic. It does not need excessive modern details. For me, the throwbacks remain among the NFC’s best overall looks. Grade: A-
- Detroit Lions
Detroit’s new Rivalries uniform takes a futuristic approach. The jersey features a mostly white design with Honolulu Blue details. The numbers use a carbon-fiber-inspired style. The concept also references Detroit’s automotive and racing heritage. Lion-eye details appear on the shoulders. That makes the design different from Detroit’s traditional uniforms. I like the creativity, but the look may divide fans. The Lions’ current uniforms remain difficult to beat. Still, the new jersey deserves credit for taking a risk. Grade: B+
- Chicago Bears
Chicago enters the Rivalries program with another alternate look. The Bears’ new uniform will debut against Green Bay on Christmas. That matchup gives the design an ideal stage. Chicago already has one of football’s most recognizable uniform identities. The navy and orange combination remains timeless. That creates a difficult standard for any alternate. The new jersey adds variety, but it does not replace the traditional Bears look. Grade: B+
- San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco does not need dramatic changes. The 49ers already possess one of football’s most recognizable jerseys. The red and gold combination remains instantly identifiable. The team also celebrates its 80th anniversary during 2026. San Francisco added an anniversary logo and patch for the occasion. That small addition gives the traditional uniform more meaning. The 49ers rank slightly lower because they lack the major redesigns seen elsewhere. Still, consistency can be a strength. Grade: B+
- Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys remain one of the NFL’s most recognizable teams visually. Dallas continues to rely on its traditional navy, white, and silver identity. The look has barely needed major changes over the years. That consistency works for the Cowboys. However, this ranking focuses on the newest jersey developments. Dallas simply does not have the same level of fresh uniform news. The classic design still looks excellent. It just does not receive extra points for innovation. Grade: B
- Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia’s midnight green remains one of the league’s strongest colors. The Eagles have built a recognizable identity around that shade. Their jerseys also look particularly sharp with the team’s winged helmet. However, the Eagles did not receive the same major 2026 uniform overhaul as some NFC teams. That keeps Philadelphia lower on this list. The team’s traditional design remains strong. It simply lacks the novelty of the conference’s newest looks. Grade: B
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay’s uniforms continue to feature the team’s familiar red, pewter, and white combination. The Buccaneers have a strong visual identity. Their current design also balances modern elements with references to the franchise’s past. However, Tampa Bay did not receive a major 2026 redesign. That makes it difficult to rank the Buccaneers above teams introducing fresh concepts. The classic pirate ship logo remains a major strength. Grade: B-
- Carolina Panthers
Carolina’s uniforms remain relatively simple. The Panthers’ black, blue, and silver combination gives the team a clean appearance. The design also fits the franchise’s modern identity. Still, Carolina does not have one of the conference’s biggest new uniform stories. The Panthers could benefit from another major alternate. For now, their traditional look keeps them in the middle of the rankings. Grade: B-
- New Orleans Saints
The Saints have one of the NFL’s most distinctive color combinations. Black and gold immediately identify New Orleans. The uniform also connects with the city’s broader sports culture. However, the Saints’ 2026 uniform situation does not create much excitement compared with the NFC’s newest releases. The classic design still works. Yet, this ranking rewards teams bringing something new to the table. Grade: B-
- Arizona Cardinals
Arizona’s uniforms have improved considerably in recent years. The Cardinals have a clean, modern look that emphasizes their red and white identity. However, the team does not have a major new 2026 uniform storyline. That makes it difficult to rank Arizona higher. The Cardinals’ uniforms remain solid. They simply lack the visual impact of Washington, Atlanta, or Los Angeles. Grade: C+
- New York Giants
The Giants finish my ranking, but that does not mean their uniforms look bad. New York has one of football’s strongest historical identities. The royal blue and red combination remain instantly recognizable. The problem comes down to freshness. The Giants did not introduce a major 2026 redesign like Atlanta or Washington. They also lack a new Rivalries uniform like the NFC North teams. Therefore, they land at No. 16 in a ranking focused on the newest looks. Grade: C+

The NFC has plenty of strong uniforms heading into 2026. Washington made the biggest overall statement with its redesign. Atlanta also created an impressive bridge between its past and future. Los Angeles deserves credit for refining its identity instead of starting over. Meanwhile, the NFC North gives fans four new Rivalries designs to debate. Seattle also has one of the conference’s strongest throwback options. Ultimately, uniform rankings come down to personal taste. Some fans prefer tradition, while others want something completely different. For me, Washington has the best overall collection. The Commanders found the right balance between history, simplicity, and creativity. That makes their new uniforms the NFC’s best for 2026.
