WWE Raw delivered a major Bloodline shocker on August 17. The show came live from Buffalo’s KeyBank Center. Roman Reigns expected Solo Sikoa to return to The Bloodline. Instead, Sikoa turned against Reigns during a chaotic closing segment. That moment completely changed the direction of the Bloodline story.
Solo Sikoa Turns the Tables on Roman Reigns
The night centered around Jey Uso delivering Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns. Jey defeated Sikoa during last week’s episode of Raw. That loss forced Sikoa back into Reigns’ orbit. However, Sikoa never looked comfortable with the reunion. The Usos escorted Sikoa toward Reigns during the show. Later, Reigns called for Sikoa to enter the ring. Reigns then confronted Sikoa and questioned his loyalty. Jacob Fatu also entered the situation and grabbed Sikoa. Fatu applied the Tongan Death Grip before Reigns stopped him. Reigns then rewarded Jey and Jimmy Uso with ula falas. That decision clearly frustrated Fatu.
Meanwhile, LA Knight arrived and confronted Reigns’ group. Knight briefly fought The Bloodline before they overwhelmed him. Then, WWE delivered its biggest surprise of the night. Sikoa appeared ready to attack Knight on Reigns’ orders. Instead, Sikoa apologized and hit Reigns with a Samoan Spike. Knight and Sikoa then attacked Reigns and The Usos. Fatu watched from the corner as everything collapsed around him. The closing angle raised several questions for WWE fans. Sikoa clearly rejected Reigns and The Bloodline. Fatu also looked increasingly unhappy with Reigns’ leadership. That could create another major Bloodline split in the future. For now, Sikoa and Knight appear to share a common enemy.
Chad Gable Survives Rey Mysterio
Chad Gable also defended his Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio. The match delivered one of Raw’s strongest wrestling performances. Mysterio nearly captured the championship after hitting two 619s. Gable somehow survived the veteran’s biggest offensive sequence. Gable then reversed Mysterio’s pin attempt. He quickly secured the victory with a roll-up. The win marked Gable’s first Intercontinental Championship defense. Afterward, Gable and Mysterio shook hands in a show of respect.
World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Continues
Raw also advanced the tournament for Roman Reigns’ next challenger. Rey Fenix defeated El Fiscal in the opening round. Fenix finished the match with his Mexican Muscle Buster. That victory moved him into the tournament semifinals. Dragon Lee also advanced with a victory over El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. Lee used Operation Dragon to secure the deciding pinfall. Now, Fenix and Lee will meet in the semifinals. The winner will move closer to challenging Reigns in Mexico City. The tournament gives several wrestlers a major opportunity. It also adds another layer to Reigns’ current title reign. Reigns now faces problems inside and outside his own family. Meanwhile, the tournament continues building his next major challenger.
Sol Ruca Defeats Lyra Valkyria
Sol Ruca picked up another impressive victory against Lyra Valkyria. The two women entered the match following last week’s confrontation. Both wrestlers delivered an energetic and athletic contest. Ruca ultimately secured the victory with the Sol Snatcher. The victory keeps Ruca moving forward on the Raw roster. Meanwhile, Valkyria continues searching for momentum after the loss. The match also added more depth to Raw’s women’s division.
Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer Struggle
The women’s championship scene also produced plenty of tension. Stephanie Vaquer called out Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Morgan arrived alongside Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. The group attacked Vaquer before Becky Lynch made the save. However, Lynch and Vaquer struggled to work together. Their disagreement allowed Judgment Day to regain control. Judgment Day eventually attacked both women and left them down. That segment keeps the tension around Morgan’s championship alive. It also shows the problems between Lynch and Vaquer. Both women want championship opportunities, but teamwork remains difficult.
Big Cass Targets Je’Von Evans
Je’Von Evans also found himself in trouble during Raw. Evans defeated JD McDonagh in an impromptu match. He won after hitting McDonagh with the OG Cutter. Evans then called out Big Cass after the match. Cass responded by attacking the young star. Evans briefly gained the advantage during their confrontation. However, Dominik Mysterio interfered at ringside. Dominik threw Evans into the ring post. Cass then finished the attack on Evans. The angle continues Evans’ issues with Cass and Dominik. It also gives Evans another major obstacle to overcome.
Bron Breakker and Oba Femi Set for a Showdown
Paul Heyman also created another major match for WWE. Heyman arranged Bron Breakker against Oba Femi for September 6. The match will take place at Sunday Night’s Main Event. Breakker confronted Femi and wanted the match immediately. However, Heyman argued against rushing the showdown. He explained that WWE must make the match as big as possible. Heyman then told Breakker that business comes first. Femi and Heyman also shared a handshake. That moment clearly surprised Breakker. It also created questions about Heyman’s relationship with both stars.
Raw Ends with Major Bloodline Questions
Overall, Raw delivered several important developments heading forward. The tournament produced two more semifinalists. Gable successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship. Ruca continued building momentum in the women’s division. Meanwhile, Evans remains locked into his feud with Big Cass. Still, the Bloodline story stole the entire show. Solo Sikoa finally made his decision. He rejected Roman Reigns and attacked him instead. LA Knight immediately became Sikoa’s ally against The Bloodline. At the same time, Jacob Fatu’s reaction created another mystery. WWE now has several directions for this storyline. Reigns must deal with betrayal from another family member. Sikoa has made himself a target within the Bloodline. Fatu could also become the next major wildcard. Therefore, Raw left fans with plenty to anticipate next week.
