Saturday afternoon’s WNBA action saw a comeback thriller in Chicago as the Sky used a huge fourth quarter to upset the Aces. In Phoenix, the Liberty took a big lead only to put themselves in a big hole they had to climb back from.

Chicago Sky 84, Las Vegas Aces 83

At Wintrust Arena, the Chicago Sky (11–18) pulled off one of the most improbable comebacks of the season, overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to stun the Las Vegas Aces (20–9) on a game-winning shot with less than a second on the clock.

The Clutch Shot: Trailing 83–81 after A’ja Wilson drove for a go-ahead layup with 3.2 seconds remaining, Chicago called a reset timeout to advance the ball. Coming out of the huddle, Sydney Taylor sank a cold-blooded three-pointer with just 0.9 seconds remaining to seal the 84–83 upset.

New York Liberty 94, Phoenix Mercury 92

Over at Footprint Center, the New York Liberty outlasted a furious fourth-quarter push from the Phoenix Mercury to earn a gritty 94–92 road win.

Surviving the Surge: New York appeared to be in firm command after building a 13-point lead in the first half only to see the Mercury come back from that. Then, the Liberty built an eight-point lead in the fourth quarter. However, Phoenix stormed back behind a balanced attack led by Alyssa Thomas, DeWanna Bonner, and Kahleah Copper to bring the game within a single possession in the closing minutes.
Clutch Finish: The Liberty made timely defensive stops inside the final two minutes and executed down the stretch from the free-throw line to keep Phoenix from completing the comeback.
Stat Leaders: Jonquel Jones paced the frontcourt for New York with 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Breanna Stewart (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Sabrina Ionescu (27 points, 10 assists) helped dictate the offensive tempo.
