Week Eight: Aliquippa Quips (5-2) vs Montour Spartans (5-3), 7:00 PM
In week seven, Aliquippa took care of business against Blackhawk, as they defeated the Cougars 34-17.
This week the Quips host the Montour Spartans at The Pit at Heinz Field.
Quips QB Marques Council has passed for 983 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 190 yards. Sadly, he will miss the rest of the season with an injury.
Josh Lay leads the team with 22 catches for 405 yards and one touchdown. Goode is 2nd on the team with 17 receptions for 370 yards and six touchdowns.
J.J. Work has rushed for 495 yards and seven touchdowns.
Montour is lead by quarterback Brandon Bennett, who has passed for 1,199 yards, 11 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Bennett has 178 yards rushing.
Zander Stern is the Spartans’s leading receiver with 36 receptions for 582 yards and eight touchdowns. Archie Collins has 19 catches for 238 yards and six scores.
Caden Halajcio has rushed for 892 yards and 12 touchdowns.
