BOSTON — After leading the UMass Lowell baseball team to a series win at UMBC, redshirt-senior Cam Climo (Billerica, Mass.) earned America East Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
The veteran outfielder hit .412 and drove in eight runs in leading the River Hawks to wins in three of their four games at UMBC over the weekend.
Climo had seven hits and scored four runs in the series, en route to a .941 slugging percentage and .444 on-base percentage. His seven hits were highlighted by three doubles and two home runs.
The Bay State native currently leads the America East with four home runs and ranks second in the league with 13 RBI. He also ranks in the top ten in slugging percentage (.683), runs (10), hits (13), and doubles (3).
This is Climo’s first America East Weekly Award of his career and the first of the season for River Hawks.
