BOSTON – Two more #AEHoops teams began their season last week as Binghamton and Stony Brook played its first games. The Seawolves beat Fairfield on Friday for their first win, while Hartford picked up a pair of victories over in-state rival Stags and Central Connecticut State.
Conference play kicks off this weekend with a single series as New Hampshire visits NJIT in the Highlanders’ first action of the season and their first #AEHoops contests. Check the full schedule for the most up-to-date version.
Here are the week #2 men’s basketball awards for the 2020-21 season:
Player of the Week
Austin Williams, Hartford – Sr., Guard, Roseland, N.J.
- Averaged 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for Hartford.
- Shot 74 percent from the field (17-of-23).
- Had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds in the Hawks’ win over Central Conn. State on Friday
- This is Williams’ first career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Thomas Webley, Hartford – Fr., Forward, Christchurch, New Zealand
- Averaged 7.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for Hartford.
- Had a career-best 10 points in Hartford’s win over Central Conn. State on Friday.
- This is Webley’s first #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
