Are you a degenerate gambler? Perhaps you’re someone who picks games against the spread just for fun and to see how smart you really aren’t? If this describes you, or if you just like to be entertained by a crazy sports columnist, you’re in luck, because you’ve stumbled across Against All Odds: NCAA and NFL Picks, a weekly post from the start of the football season, all the way to the Super Bowl, where me, Mike Drakulich (MPD), the man behind Pittsburgh SportsNation, takes on my father, Michael J. Drakulich (MJD), in picking NCAA and NFL games against the Vegas line! Check out the Draftkings welcome offer to see how you can win big and find many bonuses.

I cover both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers during the season for the fabulous NGSCSports.com!

Normally, we always include the local teams here in Western Pennsylvania, which are Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh Steelers among our weekly picks. This gives me the chance to take shots at the opposing teams I really dislike, enraging certain readers, and adding delight to my busy weekends.

All in all, both my dad and I are pretty good at picking these games, but don’t take our word for it. You’re on your own when you place your bets, so don’t blame us if you lose… but you can share your winnings with us if you wish.

Itchy vs Scratchy. Pepsi vs Coke. Black Spy vs White Spy. Cheers vs Gary’s Old Towne Tavern. History is full of rivalries, but none are better than father vs son! Who will rise above the other this season and become the 2023-24 Against All Odds Champion?

Another week in the books, and despite having another brutal week at 5-5, and failing to get out of a huge hole, I was able to gain a game on my dad who went 4-6.

For the year, dad is up by four games with a record of 36-34.

Week 10

Against All Odds Lines as of 11/1/2023

NCAA

Saturday, November 4th

# Florida State (8-0) at Pitt (2-6)

Game Time: 3:30 PM

Vegas Line: Florida State -21.5

The Pick: MPD: Florida State | MJD: Pitt

Pitt, in my opinion, quit in the 2nd half of the game vs the Irish. It gets worse this week with Florida State coming to town. This team seems lost right now, and I can’t see them righting the ship vs the high powered Seminoles.

#11 Penn State (7-1) at #Maryland (5-3)

Game Time: 3:30 PM

Vegas Line: Penn State -10.5

The Pick: MPD: Penn State | MJD: Penn State

Maryland has played well, but Penn State should have enough in the tank to make the cover on the road. The one worry is if this team is looking ahead to the Michigan game next week.

#12 Missouri (7-1) at #2 Georgia (8-0)

Game Time: 3:30 PM

Vegas Line: Georgia -15.5

The Pick: MPD: Georgia | MJD: Georgia

Georgia will not be in a good mood after being leap-frogged by Ohio State in the polls. Missouri will incur the Dawgs wrath.

BYU (5-3) at West Virginia (5-3)

Game Time: 7:00 PM |

Vegas Line: WVU -10.5

The Pick: MPD: WVU | MJD: BYU

The Mountaineers played great last week and will keep that positive momentum against the visiting Cougars.

#5 Washington (8-0) at #20 USC (7-2)

Game Time: 7:30 PM

Vegas Line: Washington -3.5

The Pick: MPD: Washington | MJD: Washington

Washington has to play big this week and win this game to stay in position to make the College Football Playoffs.

NFL

Thursday, November 2nd

Tennessee (3-4) at Pittsburgh (4-3)

Game Time: 8:15 PM

Vegas Line: Pittsburgh -2.5

The Pick: MPD: Pittsburgh | MJD: Pittsburgh

Kenny Pickett will play, as will Cam Heyward. Somehow the Steelers will weasel their way into a Thursday Night Football home win over the Titans.

Sunday, November 5th

Miami (6-2) at Kansas City (6-2)

Game Time: 9:30 PM | Venue: Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt, Germany

Vegas Line: Kansas City -2.5

The Pick: MPD: Miami | MJD: Kansas City

Both teams travel to Germany for a Chiefs “home game”. If this contest was at Arrowhead, I’d like Kansas City’s chances, but after that dud of a loss to Denver last week, I think The Fish come up big with a statement win overseas.

Chicago (2-6) at New Orleans (4-4)

Game Time: 1:00 PM

Vegas Line: New Orleans -7.5

The Pick: MPD: New Orleans | MJD: Chicago

Chicago is a disaster right now, and QB David Carr is playing well for the Saints lately.

Seattle (5-2) at Baltimore (6-2)

Game Time: 1:00 PM

Vegas Line: Baltimore -5.5

The Pick: MPD: Seattle | MJD: Baltimore

The Seahawks have to travel cross-country, but I think they can keep this one closer than the Ravens will like. Baltimore will probably win, but this one will be decided by a field goal.

Dallas (5-2) at Philadelphia (7-1)

Game Time: 4:25 PM

Vegas Line: Philadelphia -3.5

The Pick: MPD: Philadelphia | MJD: Philadelphia

Dallas has yet another chance to prove to the world they can win a big game. They will fail again. Fly Eagles, fly!

Against All Odds Pick Results

MJD: Last Week: 4-6 | Overall: 36-34  —

MPD: Last Week: 5-5 | Overall: 32-38  -4
